Greetings, Well, as I have had it explained to me there are three major "cards" involved in any fight. 1. Tempo- who controls it? Are there change ups? Can you start a pattern, then change it. Better yet see what pattern your opponant is establishing then change it for them. 2. Range- This can be in...

Greetings, I have been fighting with a square shield for about a year and a half. First I had a 20" square, and I liked it alot. I spent alot of time on my knees though, so I decided to increase it to a 22" and while I still end up on my knees often, not nearly as often. I have found that it is very...

I have used them both strapped and center gripped. I vastly perfer the center gripped option, seems to have better coverage. I just moved to the middle from the west and I think that they are still not quite sure what to think. Unfortionally for me however some of them seem to be catching on. http:/...

With a short sword with a basket hilt more weight needs to be added to the tip. Such as a thrusting tip( should be on a short sword anyway in my opinion), or a strip of leather or nylon on the edge of the sword from just below the sweet spot up around the tip and down the back blade about 3-4inches....

(SCA) How long is your glave?
Now I know that the standard length is between 6' and 7.5'but what do you like? I find that fighting 2-4 people, by myself or with a buddy I am most comfortable with a six footer. Secondly, I was wondering if there was a benifit between padded vs. unpadded glaves. I know that there are different rul...
