Re: Red Scarf Rebel (1351-1368)

your hard kit would likely be a variation of brigandine, and actually your soft kit could look exactly the same since the yuan and ming courts both had court officials wearing fake armor as a display of fancy clothes. I would look at early ming armor for a basis, which by the way looks alot like sun...

Yes there are several that have been on here in the past year or 2. Usually it is Shamrock armoury or one of the Ukranian armorers making them.

Re: Indian Rajput or Kshatriya Warriors

I am trying to find other examples of the armor, and details about it. This armor is suppose to be from the Mughal dynasty. I dont know if there is any pre1600 Rajput, But I think the Mughal will work for you if it is style you are interested in vs culture. http://www.historum.com/asian-history/1433...

Do 3 coats or so, then if you start to see rust do a quick cleaning (reblue if chemical bluing, they make markers now) then spray it down again. my lady's helm has been handled this way and for the p...

Re: Lamallar Plastic Torso Question

I owned the auk plates for about 6 months to a year. every time I fought in it some plates were broken. I used the gold ones. they looked good and worked fine for protection except spear thrusts. Basically I got sick of constantly repairing them

Nevermind the video footage so far has crazy lady talking about 3 SCA female fighters can fight 10 normal men easily? What a magical world some of these people live in. If he does make this I sure hope he edits out the people like that.

Re: Bluing liquid for mild steel?

buy a gun bluing kit at local gun store, it comes with 3 bottles, follow the directions and you will get some pretty kick ass results. you can experiment and do all sorts of effects... ie helm is pure black, gauntlets have a nice rust like sheen on them giving them a more rough and tumble type of look

Re: Mongol helm 1200-1350 a.d.

Oh I agree they wore lamellar, that is obvious via paintings and such, I just disagree they wore lamellar in the style portrayed in the drawing. It is more a pet peeve that so many people allow that drawing to be the basis for lamellar design vs the multitude of miniatures available to reference.
