Do you do powder horns? I would buy a powder horn like either of those. You make it and I will buy it. Hell I will buy 2. Let me know if you are willing.

Re: SCA at an evolutionary cross-roads (A discussion)
Our events are private, our private fighter practices are private, the only place we are in public are the very rare demo and fighter practices. Fighter practices are our recruiting area IMO. I think we get more recruits than any over venue from fighter practice. -Aaron Once again I was using this ...

Re: SCA at an evolutionary cross-roads (A discussion)
I went to my first practice back in Sacred Stone after not being here for almost 20 years, and I still knew people. I have had experiences that are similar too though. My first practice in Caid, I literally stood fully armed on the field for almost an hour before anyone came over to ask if I wanted...

This was my friend's first fighter practice since moving back here which would make it more than 4 years so he did not really know any of the people either.

I would like to know how much you would charge for such? A knife like that would go great with my French and Indian War gear.Forge The Sampo wrote:I'm currently making a knife quite like this, would you like me to email you a pic once it's done? I'd be more than willing to make you one.

Yes, I'm aware of what the BOD says. I'm also aware that plenty of what we do on a daily basis (classes on just about any medieval topic, and immersion exercises) fit the definition of "educational". We have no duty to educate "the public", just as the BoyScouts don't. We only have a duty to educat...

Re: SCA at an evolutionary cross-roads (A discussion)
The story of Sunday. I will say it was not unpleasant and I enjoyed watching a few people fight but not one person came over to me, a complete stranger, and said hello. There were 16 people there besides me. I am wrong, the new leader of the group walked by me and said hi but that was only because ...

Re: SCA at an evolutionary cross-roads (A discussion)
I will also bring up something else from another thread that got me to thinking. The SCA is a non-profit educational organization. It it becomes so insular that it does not meet this goal anymore then it runs the risk of loosing its non-profit status as an educational organization. People keep brin...

[/quote] The SCA is indeed a non prof educational org. It's just that we educate our membership instead of the public. And I for one have NEVER made a profit in the SCA. :D Seriously though, most non-profs make a profit. And we really do educate each other. I know that our tax status is supposed to ...

I was directed to this thread by a friend on here. I read the whole thing. Good reading I must say. Maeryk I completely agree with you. You know as well as I that trying to adjust the order simply to appease an individual with an obvious chip on their shoulder is not appropriate and will not happen. It is not with malice or disdain that I offer him the truth of it. If the situation called for it,...

The SCA is not liable for damages suffered by artisans or authors resulting from Mr. Price's alleged contractual breaches. Nor does the SCA control who merchants at Pennsic (unless that person is otherwise excluded from the SCA). The BoD could R&D Mr. Price but the precedent is not to do so in circ...
