Re: Longsword classes in NoVa NOT in Springfield?

She can worship green men from the moon as far as I'm concerned. I just want to learn fechtbuch longsword techniques. If she teaches that while leaving out the magick, I might be down.

Thanks very much for pointing out her school BTW!

Re: Longsword classes in NoVa NOT in Springfield?

I'll giver her a call. Though this from the Selohaar website is a potential deal-breaker: Thus, Selohaar is a magical system, not a religion, drawing from the wide ranging canon of Western magic and mysticism. We do, however, exchange ideas with various neopagan and ceremonial magic organizations an...

Longsword classes in NoVa NOT in Springfield?

I am interested in taking some longsword classes, but VA academy of fencing in Springfield may as well be on the dark side of the moon from Reston.

Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure Calontir Trim still makes these. But you'd better snatch these up in case he doesn't!!

Cool photo, and nice kit!

While I do like that stylized B/W shot, I'd love to see some in color. I'm trying to get a 14th cent rig together and wanted to see your CoP better.

Re: a question on sca legality (finger gauntlets)

I have a pair of 3 turret armory (that's whoknew) wisby stile finger gauntlets. They have the required 1/4" padding in them and they are fine for SCA heavy. I took a pole arm full on and was fine. My hand stung for a minute but everything was fine.

Re: fluted lamellar from calontir trim FS $250

Depends on how big you are!

I'm 5'9 190lbs and this is enough for a klibanion to fit a similar build.

Calontir Trim made these. I'll post up exact measurements later. I think Cathal is correct though.

Har de har.

Most effigies I've seen have soupcans with splinted cuisses. Has anyone found evidence of soupcans with all steel cuisses?

14th Cent steel legs for sale $175 SOLD!

These are very high quality. I recently purchased them from brewer (Reconstructing History). Mild steel of eastern european manufacture. The straps are very nice with period cast buckles on them . The buckles are modern steel buckles. If they fit you (longer legs than me :( ) they are good to go out...

Transaction feedback: aidanhroarsson

I recently bought a bacinet from Aidan. Top marks all around. Aidan asked a fair price, had great communication, shipped promptly. He provided me with plenty of answers to many questions and also sent me many photos of the helmet.

I would not hesitate doing business with him again.
