My lady is planning on joining me on the field. She wants to do Combat Archery with my house, while we are on the line poking our enimies with spears :) I will be making her a coat of plates, but need to have the "Lady" chest protection made up for her so I can put it into the coat, and I need a goo...

wtb SS welded or riveted aventail(reasonably priced)
I understand the work that goes into chainmail, I have made a butted coif, and it was not fun/easy. However I cannot afford to pay for works of art either. I need something functional, safe, and sound. I will pay for safe and sound, nothing is more important than my head, except maybe for my Lady. L...

How are your legs hung, from a kidney belt? The weight cuts into your back at the edge of the belt, doesn't it... Which affects how you stand and move. And if your knees are hurting from it as well that is probably due to two things. 1. Compensating for the back. 2. Your metal knees are on a differe...

$60 bucks has been what I have been asking, that price is a few dollars over cost. That is to cover the extra expensises that making them take up, like sand paper, glue, blade sharpening, tack cloth etc...... Also that does not include the cool inlay I added to my bow(artistic license and all) The w...

CA question, Baldar blunts or Fathead blunts
I am going to get into Combat Archery, I have the bow made, and am ready to order my bolts.
I can order fatheads from Northstar or Balder Blunts from Valkyrie Forge
Can anyone recommend one over the other? the pricing is about the same so that is not an issue.
Thanks
Gavin

well i'm in florida, and i sweat quite a lot during most of the year when fighting, so mild steel would likely rust as I was putting it on. Now i could soak it in oil and bake it for a few hours but that i fear would make an icky messy after a while..... My gambeson would be insanly dirty. I was thi...

yup, I just double checked, in Trimaris you may not grasp the bladed (striking surface) portion of the opponents weapon. Nor may it be trapped against the body as a means of preventing the use of the weapon. A gauntleted hand may grasp the haft of the weapon. You may not grasp the opponents shield,...

YOu can place a gauntleted hand on the opponents blade and bind (at least in Ansteorra). Here in Trimaris (I am almost certain) you may not grasp a blade with your hand, gauntleted or not. You may grab the haft of a glaive or spear but not the bladed part. I did not say grasp, I said place . My mis...

nothing dorkier than a samurai with a sword and shield. Sorry, just sayin. Um, That is my Knight Sir Takamatsu, he normaly fights with Glaive and uses the Sword and Shield for training his Squires and Man-at-Arms like me. And the occasional Tourney where the format is Sword and Shield. Otherwise he...
