Consider that estimates of arrow usage at Crecy(?) were on the order of 250,000....you need a lot of feathers.

Re: heat treating gauntlets
I've sent some ss gauntlets to heat treat, and they had the parts bolted together in place of rivets, but it was also a type of ss that doesn't warp much, and didn't involve a quench.

It could also (armor appropriate) be used to point it to the garment, or armor underneath. It would keep a gorget from coming out from under the bp, for instance.

They have a minimum charge for an order, and a per pound charge- there may also be an extra charge if you want some sort of special treatment. Let's call it $225 minimum, which is fairly standard (I inspect aircraft parts, and see heat treat bills from Paulo and Metal Improvements pretty often). If ...

They're also contemporary with the armor on The Altar of St James in Pistoia Cathedral. If there are tails for the groin and butt, you can probably put them on helmets. http://armourinart.com/media/armourinart.com/original/293.jpg https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/f0/97/51/f097517e8a937909fd...

Theres something I would need to know. I know of the trick of using vinegar to remove scale, but had not heard of 4130 possibly becoming brittle under the effects of mild acid. Anyone have more definitive answers on this? I'd be using something like cheap white vinegar in gallon jugs for preference...

Re: And he threw a rising flat snap into his opponent's
I was in a tourney a few years ago, that I went to sort of on a last minute whim, with a couple friends. In this one bout (maybe my first of the tourney?) I had a very good opponent. I cautiously advanced into position, and I thought about a shot I'd used on someone a few years previously, and decid...

Re: And he threw a rising flat snap into his opponent's
A long time ago, I was in a boar hunt, and there were problems with one of them...like a boar, it was hard to convince him that he was dead, even when several people were poking him in the face enough that he couldn't advance. I mentioned it to the marshals, and they said there wasn't anything they ...
