WTB: helm work

I have a Valsgarde kit from polar bear forge I bought last year, and formed. It is currently ready for an armourers touch, held together by macine screws. It needs to be riveted and welded at every joint, (rivets alone are not legal in my SCA kingdom, An Tir) and the nape of the helmet is slats, so ...

i sand blasted an old gauntlet and was advised that i caused pitting to the steel, but i supose it coulda been the rust i removed. maybe a heavy grit might muck it up more?

right, ive got some nice deerskin gloves that fit, and now i intend to sew them in, how though is the padding inserted and what that padding will be is my current issue.

i think im confused, and its gotta be 1/4 closed cell foam or equivilent. so wool? or felt? and how much is enough?

it is indeed a south tower. i supose some day i will replace it, but for the time being (and the money i spent on it) it will have to do.

blueing it and adding brass trim well more than doubled the price for ome reason.

but id argue my south tower is a lot better than yours was, no? sorry!
