answering some questions
First of all thanks everyone who answered, I appreciate all of your opinions. Some of your replys contained questions, which I will try to answer here. If I pre-loaded my question with bias, as some suggested, that was to focus the answers on my point of interest. The weapon: A Gransfors Bruks doubl...

What Armor Would You Wear?
You are going to fight a real battle. Not a big battle- just a small skirmish. There will be no firearms- just edged weapons and impact weapons. You are on foot, swinging a 2-handed weapon, so no shield. You have the choice of any type of armor. What pieces of armor do you take, and what material is...

Thanks
Thanks D,
You make some good points. I will follow your advice. Do you like the water and baked leather better than the wax hardened leather? Torvaldr and others use that method.

Reccos for hardened leather armor
Any suggestions on who makes good Greek or Roman style hardened leather armor? How easy is it to make? I have made knife and axe sheaths and an arrow quiver. I tried researching here for armorers, but there is so much info it is hard to get to specifics.
Thanks,
Peisandros

Greek Helmet recco
I would like to buy a repro of a particular Greek helmet- the Corinthian that DeGaulle donated to the Louvre. You can see it if you google- Corinthian helmet- Louvre 4491. It is dated around 600 BC, but has that old-school style that makes it look like something Achilles might have worn. I originall...
