Re: 2015 Show us your kits!
Thank you, Paladin! That's the helm I fight in. It's a good, sturdy White Mountain Armoury kettle helm. But with that crest? Maybe once if my most noble and worthy opponent would graciously concede to avoid headshots. It will make a combat debut this fall at a Pas, I have to make a similar one for m...

I've got a pair of his demi gauntlets, and have watched his work evolve over the past couple years. He is an accomplished armorer, a really good guy and great to work with.

Thanks! My wife made the jupon, as well as a banner, matching dress, and repainted my shield. The jupon is brocade gold and blue velvet triangles, and the fluers are painted. It's lined with black linen, and has a pointed kumihimo cord with a mix of my wife's and my colors.

14th Century Swede taking Part in a Pas de Armes. My wife made the Black Prince style Jupon in my family heraldry, as well as the torse, so I can take no credit for my appearance. She makes me pretty.

Re: Market survey - gauntlet kit now with 1050 prices
I'm interested, though not sure I'm up to it. How likely is it that a newbie who's just getting the hang of peening steel and copper rivets would get through assembly more or less intact? If it's at least somewhat likely, these seem like they'd be an excellent winter project for the fighters in my ...

Here's the 'Armoured Family' pics from last September. The kids where 3 and 4 (complete with tunic, breais, hosen, belt and girdle purses), so I get to redo their armour, and my wife has lost considerable weight since then, so I also get to redo her armour. As for mine, I finished my uber sport gaun...

Kit as of last summer. The greaves, elbows and knees have been replaced (shaped schynbalds, rondel elbows and knees with dags), and I have a klappvisor. None of these have been debuted on the field yet though. http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i182/azommin/kt_zpsb4a30310.jpg Yup, I can say that kit...

Re: Lamellar construction
I buld my wife's and my lamellar front-opening. I achived a sort of taper by letting the 4th body band, that sits at the waist, be ith inner-most row, and loosly lased to the body. The lower panels are loosly lased to this. It acts a bit like a belt, and gives some flexibility to the armour. Not a t...

Re: "History Channel’s Vikings is just as brutal as GoT"
Came across to me as another dram centered on socio political manuevering with a fictionalized Viking glaze. The characters aren't terribly interesting. I'll watch it while workign on projects, just to see what they do with it, but it isn't anywhere near as engaging as Game of Thrones or The Walking...
