If you were there to see my first tournament, then you would have seen my horse stopping at the exact point of impact. I only came off once and it was because of that. IF you are trying to insinuate that I have hit someone in the crotch, you are sadly mistaken. I have NEVER EVER hit anyone in the cr...

Thank you so much Gwen! I have absolutely no interest in starting a fire, either, with anyone. I simply wanted to put the FACTS out there. Miss Post is my friend, I know exactly what she went through, and I aim to defend her. I have been meaning to get in touch with you about the IJL, but life has b...

Roy is different than Shane and Charlie. For one, Shane charges about $150/hour and makes you ride with no stirrups at first. Jessica is an accomplished horsewoman, and definitely knows how to stay in the saddle. Yes, things are totally different in armour. Let me put it to you this way. Say you do ...

I am also sorry I couldnt make it to the meeting. Hubs had surgery and if I had gone to Pennsic without him, I would probably have had to find a new place to live I will call or email you sometime soon Gwen, I want to discuss being the U.S./MD rep......I'll let you get back from Pennsix first though )

This would be cool. I still hadnt decided on whether or not to go to Pennsic due to the many animals on the farm. It would be nice to just pop in for the evening since I am not far away. I did make it to one of these a few years ago and met Jeff face to face. Not sure if you were there though.....ca...

She competed at one of them, it was in Orangeville, Ont. She was jousting against Cassandra and, I think, she was riding Titan who freaked out about Valour being a stallion, reared and crashed down on her giving her a concussion. One of the many reasons why I revere that woman. She actually injured...

Lloyd, I cant thank you enough for being an equal opportunity trainer. I have met Cassandra, and am well aware that she no slouch in the saddle. The only female that I can think of that is better than Cass, is Kate Cox. To this day, that woman is one of the FINEST jousters in the world, IJL, IJA, WC...

My profile info is slim on purpose . j/k.... In my personal opinion, I dont think you will come across the Shane and Charlie types so much anymore b/c times are more progessive. Back in the day when I was training, there was this pride thing. You never, ever, backed down, from anything, even when yo...

[quote Are there any young guys getting involved in this type of jousting? Are there any notable names, 'stars of the circuit' kind of thing? I watch the RenFaire forums and suchlike to keep up with who is doing what, but all the guys seem to be a bit older and established. I have not seem any new g...

This is great, kind of like watching guys fighting over the crown of England- 'I am the king!' 'No you're not, *I* am the King!' 'Oh yeah? Who sez?' 'I sez!' 'Oh yeah?' Can't wait to see the lineup and the results! Gwen LMAO Gwen! Too funny! I am interested as well to see how things turn out. Good ...

Hi, again! Lloyd asked me to check back on this thread. Hope I'm (still?) welcome to play in the sandbox. Please make some note as to hip/groin protection in the regs. In my experience, a saddle plate does not require a whole new saddle, or even much modification at all. It is highly effective in p...

Foolishness
My point in saying that Jeff contradicted himself is this; when Trystyn said "IJL doesnt do unhorsings" OF COURSE Jeff had to pipe up and say that was incorrect when in fact, they have NEVER recognized unhorsings? I realize his motive was to, I suppose, clarify? Seems like it seriously dev...

foolishness
IJL does not award points for unhorsing an opponent. This is incorrect. It is up to each IJL tournament organizer to set rules regarding that. The IJL has no official policy on scoring unhorsings or any other type of scoring, for that matter. FYI, I'm the IJL Board rep for the USA. Have they ever? ...
