Re: If folks wouldn't mind providing some feedback...
My greatest weakness is lack of observation of the fight as a whole. I fail in being able to observe my opponent and end up concentrating too fully on my offense. Either just in general, or in a tunnel vision sort of way. I WILL HIT THAT TARGET. I would 2nd this. I belong to an old Household of "gu...

Re: Favorite SCA sword and board shot combos for new fighter
EVERYONE has a favorite combo, the trick is surviving them. If the fight last long enough, your opponent will pull it out and reveal it to you. Defend. If he/she uses it twice, now you have your opportunity. Defend till they use it again... ... in the moment their "ultimate" combo is finished, they ...

Re: Fighting someone you do not like
As this thread has migrated a little to rhino armor...and was started by Lady Tasia... I'm curious if this is referring to the same fighter, (or another like him) who, while otherwise a fair and amiable fighter of the Society, is known to refuse to take any hit from any Lady fighter, even if were ha...

Re: Fauld vs. Tassets
In reply to my own post, I've often wondered at how many fighters are running amok in shiny lamellar that stops at their belly button (drink too much at the revel Lord?) and whether they get hit on their hip bones?

Fauld vs. Tassets
Last fighter practice I got stabbed right in the crook of my groin and the front of my thigh, missing the Nutty Buddy completely, and too low for my armor covering the torso. Nice circular bruise. Thegn Teigr lined me up and slipped that thrust right under and around my shield's rim while I was tryi...

I don't know if there's more than one Sir Haroun (its not that rare a name) but the one I know does make armor, and I sent a message to him on your behalf.

So, I'm getting into a little bit of a barter exchange with another blacksmith, who's skills and tools are simply put, just more of everything. The only slight difference between us that I have an advantage in is I also dabble in a little leatherworking. I have a nearly completed tool roll I started...

Re: 14th century hourglass gauntlets---rolled edges? Eviden
Now don't take my word for this, I'm a noob. But being a noob, and a Squire to a KSCA who is also a Laurel in Armor, last year I asked him which way your roll the edge, inward or outward, and he said that was a great question, because rolling out is a newer style, and before Year=X all the armor was...
