I used to make armor for fun and sale, I made a few bucks but when the Indians started shipping armor to the US ,the market dropped out. I could still sell armor but people were not willing to pay more than...

For dishing I use a nice 3 1/2 pound rawhide hammer and a highly polished dishing form. I would also polish your hammers up to a mirror finish. They still look very rough and will leave lots of marks in the current condition.

Autozone has a real nice autobody hammer, fiberglass , red handle with a nice round flat face for about 7 dollars. I polished it up and it held up so well I bought another for backup.

I had planned to double the size of my small shop but have decided to hold off until I can better see t he economics of armor improve a bit. I sell bargain armor and make a little pocket money from it but can't make the big investment that will improve my production at this time. I'm buying a scoote...

My Wife Made a Slide Show of My Armor

My wife got a few web editing and movie programs and made a little slide show of some of my past work. Be kind, some of the armour is from years ago when I didn't really have an idea of what I was doing and of course, this is her first web slide show. Just go to the link below and click on "my video...

Okay, I am putting this here rather than the armor design and construction thread, since this deals with making things for sale. Modifed Full Coverage Manica

I just finished up a project and thought I'd share some pictures. It is a full coverage manica. The plates overlap upwards from the wrist. Rolled edges at wrist and upper lamination. Customer wanted a shoulder cop and those funny laminated hand covering plates. This is for a very large man so I won'...

I have made these in 16 gauge and found them to be very heavy. As is, each piece ways 2 1/ pounds in 18, in 16 they were closer to 4 or 5 pounds a piece. Most of the feedback I've had has been positive in the durability of the elbow portion, actually more denting in the forearm part after hard use.....
