I have a few fake Garnets that look pretty real. I'd be glad to send you a few to use if you'd like.

I see the edging on the bits of material. How do you keep the edges from fraying? Do you apply that edging, then apply the fabric to the garment? Do you stitch it all down together? What is that edging?

Can you give us some of the specifics of your interpretation of the outfit? How did you make the helm, How did you choose colors for the suit, etc...? Are there pics to go with the research you found of archeological findings, or at least some art of these items? I really would like to know more. At...

There is a guy in my boffer group that has a wire running up his shirt to the camera in his hat, the recorder being in a belt pouch. It is totally hidden.

So, if you have his OK, then the marshals can't say no, right?

Really nice helm there. I love the smooth sweep to the back and the overall hight of it.

Being a boffer group, I am actually going with a Warhammer Empire look, but Landeschect is pretty close so I posted here. I did try some pants and the how to page for the outfit is here: http://www.drandmir.org/howto/puffandslash.pdf That is for the shirt and pants. I didn't like how the pants came ...

So I am with a boffer group, not SCA, so I am working on the base soft kit first, then we'll get to some armour. Here is my starting place. The next bits in no particular order are better pants, a pizza hat, and a katzbalger. I t...

Armour will defiantly take longer than the outfit, but plans are in the works. Here is the beginning of the right leg. I am taking strips of puffs like I did on the back of the doublet and they will get sewn to the leg and wrap around it. Here are the strips laid out. [img]http://drandmir.org/photo_...

I like the length and how the arms fit, so I used it as a basis. http://drandmir.org/photo_archive/Puffandslash/puffslash%20project-original%20dublet.JPG So I made the lining first and gave it a square neckline. Puff and Slash Garb

So, I have the week off and I am working on a new puff and slash outfit. While the design is more aimed at a warhammer Empire outfit, it is along the lines of a Landsknecht, so I am posting here as it may be of interest. I started on some and uploaded some pics, but I did something screwy, so I have...

What I do is add a whole row of rings and then throw in a few expansions spread around the edgs and go to the next row. Depending on the size of the rings and just how much maille mass you are looking for I go 6-8 extra rings per row.

steel in austin, tx

Hey central Tx folks! It's been a while since I picked up some steel, but I am looking to again in the near future. I had been using Trident, but they said 1 sheet is not a big enough order to process. I think that's crazy, as they don't have to do much but pick up a sheet and give it to me. I am lo...
