Looking for Heraldic Artist

I have a cousin getting married, and I am looking for an artist to paint the two families crests quarterly on a canvas (8" x 10"). If you are interested, please PM with a link to some of your work. Thanks.

Re: Scale/lamellar you would like to see

How about 2" x 2" Octagon plates with a 1/8" center punched hole for an elizabethan jack of plates? Do you have a source for this plate? It's the first I have heard of them. I'm with Russ in that small scales ala St George (4-holed tho if you ask me) would be great to see. Also LARGE scales for hom...

Scale/lamellar you would like to see

Is there a scale or lamellar pattern that you wish was available in the marketplace? I've been toying with the idea of tooling up dies. It seems there are a load of undocumented or generic plates, so I would like to produce something that is historically accurate. Is there a pattern that you have se...

Re: No SCA...alternatives?

Find/start a crossfit style gym. It may not be directly combat related, but the increase in balance/flexibility/anaerobic endurance will help make you a beast when you can start hitting people again. Minimal equipment needed. When I was over there with CLR-15, we always had two pairs of boxing glove...

Re: Why Did Cheek Pieces and Neck Guards Go Away?

Perhaps demand out stripped the ability to produce. The scope of warfare expanded exponentially. In 200-300 years we went from small groups raiding to entire cultures crusading. Designs were streamlined. Materials conserved.

WTB chainmail

Halloween is around the corner and with me being deployed until close to the very end, I have to outsource my costume making! I'm looking for a chainmail vest (shirt with no sleeves, how ever you want to say it). Material is not important, nor is ID or gauge, price kind of is. It'll be for costume u...

I should have clarified, by east I did not mean far east, more eastern and central Europe. By this time period would there be much scale used by Poles from say, Krakow? I know it was used at one point, but by this time would they be Western European in fashion with all maille?

I want to be a Polish Nobleman ~ 1241

Defending Europe from the Mongol Horde. Since the land of Poland straddles West and East, how much would each influence the defenses of a Nobleman? It seems there were defenses unique to the culture (Grand polish style helm to name one), but how much was influenced by outside cultures such as German...

The great helms data seems odd. The greathelm is a technology decidedly from the previous century, and can be seen in much of the 13th century period art ( I believe most of the Royal Seals from England during that period contain a great helm) yet they are not represented in effigy until the 1340's....

If that is the case, then we must discredit the 'sugarloaf' style of great helm, because we have never found an actual physical helm of that description. All we have to go on are a few drawings which may or may not represent what we think a 'sugarloaf' is. It is not outside the realm of possibility ...
