Re: Conflicted and confused (armour)
anyone have any opinions to a helm that would do the armour justice? You want to be looking at Roman or Migration Era helmets. http://clang.adkinssoftware.com/helm%20pics/helm%20roman%2001.html https://www.quietpress.com/instockhelmets.html http://store.fastcommerce.com/icefalcon/early-period-ancie...

I actually found him and talked to him. Great guy, and AMAZING work, just slightly out of my price range.

Yeah, it seems as though I won't be going with their helm, even as pretty as it is. I appreciate the info though!

Re: Conflicted and confused (armour)
They do not go together at all, sorry, both are very nice, but both are very far apart regarding "time" That is what I had figured. I find lots of nice things, but can't seem to find the peas that go in the nice pod :( With that being said, anyone have any opinions to a helm that would do the armou...

Conflicted and confused (armour)
Hello All. I am very new to the armour thing (and the SCA) , and have been browsing around many armourers, and the like. I have decided that I DO NOT want to do full plate. (I'm not exactly huge, so depending, it could weight literally half my weight.) I found a veeeery nice leather set that I think...

Re: I wanna Be in the Teutonic Order Circa 1200AD
Before buying any armor PLEASE do a search of their name. If you get zero hits ask the board in the classified section. For example, do a search of "review ice falcon" and another "review illusion Armoury" Appreciate the advice :) I did just that http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php...

Re: I wanna Be in the Teutonic Order Circa 1200AD
Lüthold, Are you set on the armour, or on the Order? If it is more the armour, I would personally look at recreating a Knight Hospitaller at the Seige of Malta in 1565. I think I am more set on the armour. I am still new to all of this, so it's like I feel like I have ADD. "Oh look a shiney" and of...

It was rather extensive on some fights, lasting anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Made for a very long day.

After going back and looking over the picture, I realize the smaaaaall nuance ...
Hermannus de Saltza, 17th century, Deutschordenshaus, Vienna listed under the picture, but listed on the Hermann von Salza page. Sigh, stupid wikipedia.
Thanks!

Re: I wanna Be in the Teutonic Order Circa 1200AD
I do apologize for a thread necro, but I was curious of creating armour similar to the fourth Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights [represented here] http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/29/Hermann_von_Salza_Painting.jpg Would this armour befit a member of the Teutonic Knights in the mid-...

A few videos... http://www.youtube.com/user/scraigt101?feature=watch Arngrim of Darkmoon I must say the final kill from Duke Dag was amazing to watch. I was on the other side when I seen it, so the duck was slightly obscured. Seeing it from this side, it looks just as amazing. It was an excellent b...
