You can fit a lot more oxygen in a cylinder the acetlean will phase change into a liquid a high presure. after the phase change it just does not compact any more. Acetylene explodes violently at high pressures (according to Wikipedia high pressure is 29psi). In a welding tank the acetylene is disso...

No, I see what you are saying. The initial post you made used the word "pinning" which around here mean grabbing or holding the weapon against your body (like under your arm, or hugging it to your chest) which isn't allowed. Diglach, I don't have a dog in the Madu fight. I don't care to use them bu...

Re: Duel Protocol with Consequences
This is not really for me but I did want to comment on one item you bring up. I haven't had time to read more than the first page so I might have missed something but here goes... The Challenged may choose to decline and suffer a public stain on his honor, or accept and choose a second of his own. I...

Steve, Looking good so far. I'm not sure how you're doing the extra plates on the side but the metacarpal plate looks a little too tapered for your hand. I'm no expert though so take that for what it's worth. When I made mine I tried to make the gadlings the same and then just used the natural varia...

Re: Raising an hourglass cuff - progress
I started out with a cylinder, on the basis that the raising has to be less accurate. Starting with a pre-cut thumb/hand opening means they have to end up in the right place when you're done! The only thing I thought when you mentioned this is that you are going to have to move a lot of metal you r...

Oddly, many other sports that have many more spectators than we do and let loose projectiles don't feel the need to surround the entire field with netting...consider baseball....yes, they have safety netting in the area near home plate, but look at all the balls that go into the stands beyond that....

Of course there is also the possibility that you are fighting with someone (like Murdoch) who carries a backup weapon. In a tournament if your opponent loses their main weapon but has a backup weapon they are not "disarmed" and no hold should be called. You are of course free to let them re-arm with...

Yep, as has already been said the powder is stuck to the piece via static electricity. The piece being coated is hung from one electrode and the powder is sprayed from a special gun that gives the powder an opposite charge as it leaves it. Once coated you need to transfer it to to the oven without t...

It works so well that if the rattan dies it takes about 10-15 minutes with a chisel and hammer to get the cross back. Paul, I mount both my pommel and cross guard with epoxy. When it comes time to remove it a couple minutes with the torch* heats it up enough that it slips right off the epoxy. Good ...

A few things. 1. I don't think Murdoch talks funny but that southern drawl makes you forget he is actually fairly smart. 2. I commented on the commas because I know talk about spring stainless has been going around and I knew Murdoch wasn't doing that. 3. Profit! 4. I also pointed out the commas bec...

Hey Murdoch, I know written english with grammer and such is almost a second language to you but you might want to look at your posts a little closer for this stuff than normal. The only problem with a Kettle Helm that *I* have noticed, fighting *against* them, is that they tend to "catch" face thrusts, instead of letting them potentially skip off. Sadly that's not a problem around here. As it has been explained to me there is no such thing as a skip or glance where face t...

I took a besic metalworking class at the local technical college a couple years ago. It turned out it was a jewelry making class.
