Re: Market survey - gauntlet kit
Having used most of Eric's kits I can say that I would be interested in a 1050 kit. I have the stainless version and I can say they are very heavy to wear for any extended period of time. I have a stainless version of his crusader helm with scale avintail and it must weigh in at 20 lbs. I'd love to ...

Hay Eric Maghnus here I just wanted to say I love the look of my helm especially since I added the scale avintail. We need to get together so we can talk about a spring version I want to make. So I can lighten The weight.

Re: The Sport Gauntlet in My Mind....
How heavy are they? I know mine are so heavy I don't use them, by the end of a war I can hardly lift my hands. It is a fine kit and great for learning a lot of armoring techniques.

I've noticed in the diagrams above the point of the intersecting lines which I take as the point of balance is just forward of the elbow is that correct for most everyone. I tend to have my elbow right on that point which my have my hand to far forward.

Re: Shield strapping opinions
Okay Blain so you like a diaganoly straped shield. When I want to find the center or balance point of a shield I flip it on its back side and balance it on my finger like a basket ball. Then mark the spot, some times shields don't balance right where they should for what ever reason. This seems to w...

Diagonal or horizontal which way do you strap your shield? I can't decide and I've tried both ways. Just as a point of reference I'm talking about a heater shield.

Yea I know all about that but who else can make this type helm? My only other thought is Jackie at shamrock but other than that I can't think of anyone else. Since it is kind of Brand's signature style of helm.

Is there a possibilty of getting these in spring to reduce the weight? One of the concerns I have is that it could flip up when you are in the high guard position and expose the bony part of the top of the shoulder and how much coverage I may be giving up for the upper bicep area.
