Perf plate and welder in New England (northern will be good)

Hey folks, got a rush job on my helm for this years Longpoint event (HEMA) which for the first time will feature a Harnischfechten tourney, which I have been invited to participate in.

I need to get some perf plate welded into my sallet.

Anyone have any sources to help me out?

Re: Any interest in historically patterned mail products?

1.) Kits for me are rough. Yep, I've done mail before. My very first piece of armour was a full length hauberk that I spent nearly a year making. It was rough, it was a learning experience, and I have no desire to try it again. Yep, there is a need for it as a lot of people love to do it, but I simp...

Re: PLATENER - historical armour reproduction

Oh wow, that last breastplate is right off of the silver altar piece! Wonderful.

My own cuirass is based off of the Museum im Prediger Schwäbisch Gmünd as well. I took a bit more german turn with mine than the Milanese route.

WONDERFUL!

*** SOLD *** Wildarmoury (Maxim) Grand Bascient for sale

This helm is for big mellons, 24.5-25.5" Possibly even 26". Helm is very resizable due to large, thick padding. Good visibility all around. I think its 12 gu, that of course has been thinned out a bit during the hammering process. Mild steel. $600 plus shipping (around $25-30). I do take paypay. Wil...

16th century? What part?

So we have Burgonets, close helms, morion/Cabasset... probably some VERY late sallets and armets.

None of which are going to be on the inexpensive side. I guess it depends on what you want to use em for.

Re: Please read if you have purchased a helmet from Clang Ar

The BoTN rule is: The fighter’s head is to be protected with a metal helmet. The steel of the helmet is to be not less than 2 mm thick

2mm = 0.078 inches, the rules say 2mm or 14gu. This also covers HMB combat.

I've ALWAYS worn 14th century hourglass gauntlets for SCA fighting. Mine were a set from Mykaru over at Oaks Armoury. They grounded out on the rattan and fit fine.

Joupon and Pourpoint for sale

Both made by Klaus the Red when he lived in Boston years ago. I've only worn the Joupon once. Now... well I'm too big for them. Swinging a sword, grappling and eating like crap changes your body. These were made for a 5'10" 150-170 lb man with a 32" waist and 40-42" chest. The Joupon is made of raw ...

Last year I started asking around to have a full harness made for me. I really couldn't go with my regulars in the Ukraine as I needed something that fit me 100%. As most of you know Scott P. (Koops) from over at Smiling Orc Armory has been working on my new 1470'ish Milanese Al Tadesca Harness for a bit. We started with a harness that is in Germany and slowly transformed it to something more usable. This is currently fitted out in my jousting setup, I will h...
