Tarquin, Are you honestly saying that you think there is time to make the -choice- to let the lance go on a really strong impact?? it is you holding the lance stiff and on target that gives big impacts. It doesn't take much to get a shatter and score max points. Vamplates also make a big difference...

Jeffrey, do you recall earlier in this thread when you pretty well jumped down my throat regarding a comment I made that people get hurt jousting ? I think it would be great to add it to the Sca line-up. However i wouldn't want to see jousting suffer in terms of appearance like heavy fighting. I would not want to see any plastic armour.... You would also run into issues of people having to "authorize in jousting." That is just a recipe for dis...

I joust in wisby gauntlets, because that is what i have. Finger gauntlets are amazing for jousting in. Allows for greater reign control.

All i have ever ridden is English. strictly because i wanted to jump. I have ridden all sorts of horses (broken and schooled many hunters), but only few for jousting. I prefer a close contact saddle, with shorter stirrups. Just a comfort thing, i learned to ride in them and have stuck with them all ...

the more i look i look at it, i am not a fan of the lack of actual point on the skull (prefer and a fairly sharp point), sorry i have to back out
