WTB: Used combat crossbow

I'm planning to get combat archery authorized in a few weeks and would like to participate in it at Pennsic.

I'm looking for a starter combat crossbow or a prod and string to use in making my own.

I would also like to buy some siloflex bolts if anyone has some they want to sell.

Thanks,
--Richard

Re: Grand bascinet up for auction

I have a period style padded linen liner that came with it that I'll include as well. I didn't like the liner myself, but it would be useful as a sizing pattern for anyone wanting to make their own.

Bump... no interest? Even the buyouts are less than I spent on these and the starting bids are just half of the buyout.

Re: Grand bascinet up for auction

What's the gauge? I don't have a way to tell for sure. If I had to guess I'd say it's 16 gauge. It's not the heaviest of the helms I've seen, but I've taken a some good blows in it and only noticed one or two very slight dents. The nose is raised from the same gauge and I can tell it did thin out a...

Grand bascinet up for auction

Hello... I'd like to sell my grand bascinet since I'm shifting my focus a bit earlier. I'd consider trading it for a kettle helm as well. The helm is mild steel and was made by Jolly Knight last year. It has a satin finish and there are a few minor surface rust spots. The helm is not lined. It fits ...

Aluminum armor auction of shoulders, elbows, legs... CLOSED

Hello, I'm selling off my current kit to redo it once again. I bought these items last year from Bokalo and reworked them a bit to try and improve articulation and look by adding a center crease to legs and re-cut sides. The items have a buffed satin finish that's hard to see in the photos. They are...

Re: Zoombang for Medieval Fighters

I ordered the full set and confirmed via email with support that the knee pad on that page (Max Cover Knee Pad) is the SCA version with two velcro fasteners in back. UPS says they'll be delivered tomorrow (that's 2 day shipping on the standard ground option).

Made a new poleaxe last week and got to play with it this weekend. I like that it is short, as it give more control, but it's gonna take me some time to learn to use it effectively.

After what feels like forever, I finally got my new kit nearly complete. The illuminations shown here by the monks of St. Denis France, are my inspiration for the kit. I'll be there and in all new untested armor. I'm coming up Friday night and will be staying through Sunday.

I'll be pretty easy to pick out as well, I've got a new midlands oval war shield, a red jupon and a new closed great bascinet.

Please feel free to say hi. I'd love to meet some new folks.

That is easily one of the prettiest maces I've seen. Does it hit with authority? The foam is very light even though it's moderately dense. Because of that, it's a lot lighter than it looks. ** Update ** Wayne finally returned my helm. Over the last month, we've communicated several times and worked out a compromise.
