Writing a blurb for War of the Wings, need input
short version, WOW XI is coming up and I'm writing the PR. The division this year is basically between the people who live for war and the people who don't. I need names of groups (households, clans, I don't care) that basically just show up and fight. I've already got Mountain Keep, Bloodguard, the...

Wendall: without a picture from straight in front, all I can see is that the metal band above the spring pin is *slightly* off center. I can't see a "wonky" helm. Since the idea that a human head is symmetrical is asinine, the idea that a helmet must somehow magically be symmetrical is also equally ...

I have a green, heavier, tougher tube I've been using that worked out to 3.23 lbs for a 9' length. This stuff worked out to right at 4 lbs for a 9' length. I never weighed Logan's woodgrain stuff but I had no problem with it. It definitely wasn't as lightweight as Icefalcon's red stuff. I can say th...

all but 50 are the regular spear lengths. 50 are the 12's. (okay, it's 8'10" and 11'10". but you get the idea.)

funny you should ask; I just got done digging for a tack locker for my gf's youngest for horseback riding. low end ones actually are pretty damn big, can be compartmentalized, and lots even come with a padded seat. Soon as I have $ to spend that's what I'm headed for.

found it - that first picture they have on the max coverage line of the kneepad is the first kneepad. The second one looks a good bit better. I'd still make sure they put enough velcro strap on 'em.

the only problem I had with the zoombang pads I tested was that the velcro was just barely long enough to wrap around my knee. I hope that got fixed. Other than that, they rock. These do look updated.

one day there will be a gps locator small enough and tough enough to put in the bottom of a butt spike. Aethelmarc was on the other side of the bridge (fighting for the East). Re: Does anyone else hate being group marshal?
Josh: basically, the rule as written states that if you don't publish the FP and the SCA doesn't sign anything making them responsible for the site, it's not an official FP, and you don't need a marshal or paperwork. Solve it that way. step down, find people who want to fight, and ignore the BS. Bla...

Re: Castle Battle PSA
I was at the GW where that occurred. What it boiled down to is the rule that's in the rulebook now that says "know your limits" or some variation thereof. I would see about raising the height of the walls where it's possible to fall. If that's not doable, I'd put up a big red STOP sign that says "no...

the biggest downside to that that I can see is that your bottom third in every circle is going to go into every fight knowing they basically have no chance. that would be an awesome tournament to run in a situation where there was plenty of time. What you're probably going to run into, though, is a lot of fights that take forever. Atlantian Speed Tourneys- they don't HAVE to take a lot of marshals. Basically you pair everybody off (although they will vary the "first guy fight the last guy in line" format, ie, number down the line, 1 fights 3, 2 fights 4, or 1 fights 2, 3 fights 4, etc, etc etc, just to keep people from lining...
