I like to use Goo-Gone to clean the tape, it literally melts it right off and wipes clean with a soft cloth with hardly any residue. They really don't work well on anything heavier than 16g. I found that mine has the hole punched just literally a hair tight for my rivets (is the hole or the rivet - don't have a micrometer) so I have to touch each hole punched with a file for a couple of seconds to make sure my rivets seat nicely....

I second the Shoe Goo suggestion if you are only going to be wearing these in the house - I have read where roofers use this on the bottom of their soles for traction on roof tops. You can also buy a product at Home Depot or Lowes called Marine Goop or Goop Glue that is exactly the same as Shoe Goo ...

Tandy Leather just put a bunch of Chap leather on sale that is 3-4 oz that would work well for a coat of plates - I think they were going for $40 a hide and if you got a 20-22 sq ft hide (on the bigger end) you would do well - if you only end up with a 16ft hide you might have to sew some of the pan...

I think touch sums it up very well. If one can be controlled enough to allow the thrusting tip of any weapon to touch with a light force it is more than easy enough to add helmet movement to it and snap them if you had wanted to. I believe it shows much more control and intent to touch than to thrus...
