I like to use Goo-Gone to clean the tape, it literally melts it right off and wipes clean with a soft cloth with hardly any residue. Home Depot and similar type stores sell a can of stainless steel polish and cleaner that works really well for the shine. What is nice is that either of these can be u...

The last Helmet padding I used is a Taekwondo sparring helmet. I cut the ear padding off and if fits in my helm like a glove. Really comfortable - doesn't breath that well but then what foam does? What I like about it beyond the protection is that I do not have to tape it, velcro or glue it into the...

I have been spending quite a bit of time looking for references to leather chauses. I have come across these quotes and a comment made on another thread concerning this. All credit for this design goes to Master Avery Austringer of the Middle Kingdom. This is a cart that I made for Pennsic last year. One lesson I did learn is that I only used a 1/2" rod for the axle and when it gets over 100lbs in the cart it begins to bow causing the wheels to rub. It works great f...

I second the Shoe Goo suggestion if you are only going to be wearing these in the house - I have read where roofers use this on the bottom of their soles for traction on roof tops. I wouldn't dispute the fact that a touch to your face grill would not hit your face therefore you are not "dead". I think that you are missing an important point. I think touch sums it up very well. If one can be controlled enough to allow the thrusting tip of any weapon to touch with a light force it is more than easy enough to add helmet movement to it and snap them if you had wanted to. I believe it shows much more control and intent to touch than to thrus...
