Yes, it was awesome.Sigtyr wrote:Anyone got any photo galleries? Sounds like everybody had a blast.
Ursus was there so we should have some great pics in a few weeks.
There was also a kid with a polar bear head on his helmet that had a gopro camera for an eye (or at least that's what it looked like).

I use greaseless compound too and I like it a lot. I also keep a wheel for each grit.Chris Gilman wrote:If you prep enough wheels, I like the Formax.
We kept three wheels of each grit with the rule, you had to regrease the wheel before you took it off the buffer.

You can probably make it work for SCA by adding a maile drape. Helm is already set up for that.Murnig wrote:That bargrill doesn't look like it would pass for SCA Heavy. It should not be able to be penetrated by a 1" thick dowel rod.

I think the second is one of Bashford Dean's helmets from the Imperial Ottoman Arsenal. Here is a link to a paper on those helmets.

Yes, mig welding is very easy to do. After some study and practice you should be able to lay down some quality beads.
FYI, MIG stands for Metal Inert Gas. It is also called gas metal arc welding.

You need to get the digital catalog version of the Wallace Collection book. It's got thousands of pictures with multiple views of each piece. Well worth the price.

It should be noted that some models have optional parts. The linner, feed rollers, and tip can often be changed out for smaller diameter wire. It's one more question to ask when talking with the dealer about that particular model. Yup, in addition to using smaller wire, some migs offer better contr...

Hi all, This is a long shot but I told my household mates that I'd ask on here. Earlier this year Baron Temur of the Kerait passed away, at Pennsic we honored him by having his sword and household tabard on display in our field pavilion.
