The potential buyer has asked for a few days to put the funds together and get them sent to me.

If I don't have the funds by next Friday, (the 5th of Mar) I will let y'all know, and sell to the next person in line who expressed interest.

Leo,

This is my personal helm. If I had an extra helm to sell, I would, but that went away a couple of years ago.

Woodstock, Thank you for your kind offer. I took you up on it, pics should be in your email inbox. Thanks! A few more details on the helm; It is clean of all stickers and sticker residue. It has been well-maintaned and cleaned following every use. More care than is strictly necessary for a stainless...

Is it a tight 23? Or can a 23.5" squeeze in? I have a local guy who needs a helm and I love my Windrose. 23.5" might fit, depends on how you pad it. The helm is made like a tank! Hands down it is the best helm I have ever owned in 28 years of being in the SCA. I will be taking pics and posting them...

Ready for immediate shipping!! SS Norman Conical for sale

Ok folks, I just got laid off and need immediate help. I am selling off my Windrose SS Norman Conical with SS Knut welded aventail. I paid $750.00 for it new. It has been well taken care of for 3 years. I hate to part with it, but I need to stay a float while I job hunt. I also have a size large fla...

I'm not sure yet. Suggestions? Vitus, for a set like the ones pictured, I would suggest $100 - $150 a pair. You will lose money at that price, but not sure if the market will support what they are actually worth. I'm guessing you have about 3 days invested in that pair of polyens, (Patterning, shap...

I think cutting and darting the leather will weaken it too much, especially right along the center line which runs over the kneecap. I think that it will also change the look. A deeper dish is possible. Vitus, try "casing" the leather. (Storing it in a closed container over night after soaking) This...

What type of dye are you using? Fiebling's works well with mildly damp leather. Water based doesn't make a difference and oil based you want to dye dry, because oil and water don't mix. If you do put the leather in the oven place it on a wooden cutting board, it won't damage the cutting board or the...

In the not too distant past there was an armoury known as House of the Wolf. Some of you may remember it. This shop made leather armour. Do business with Icefalcon

A while back, I ordered a medium mild steel riveted haubergeon from Icefalcon. When it arrived 3 - 4 days later I was eccstatic. Imagine my chagrine when I realized it was too small. I had ordered based off of the last time I had chest measurements, and a medium just wouldn't work. So I contacted Ic...

That new torso armour rig looks pretty good, animal. What do you wear over it, if anything? Fighter practice didn't really happen here, today. Most folks used the weather as the reason...unfortunately, they came out to practice, but didn't bring their armour...so no one to fight. :( Looking forward ...

Gunthar,

In all seriousness, thank you for that review.

It was much better than I expected, or feel that I deserved. As George and I are finishing clearing up this mess, it is satisfying to know that our obligations are being met, if not perfectly, at least adeqquately.

Like many Armouries, he went out of business.

Craftsmen that insist on making everything by hand find that they cannot compete with shops that use machines or out source thier labor intensive work overseas.

Master Geoffrey still makes armour, he just doesn't sell production armour any more.

The moleculer structure in leather will begin to change / (make the leather harder) when the internal temprature of the leather reaches 180 degrees. I have a digital stove, so I set the temp at 180, pull out the leather to check forming/dry every 15 minutes or so. If your oven doesn't have a 180 deg...

I use a thin piece of scrap leather, (no more than 3oz) line a steel dishing bowl, and go to town. Once its shaped the way I want it, I bake it, then seal it with acryllic.

If you work it well enough, you can dish the elbow cop without needing to stitch it.

My chest size is between 40" and 42". Its hard to measure your own chest. An extra large is way to big, its over 16" larger than the large. Large will fit a 44" chest according to the website. Icefalcon Mail review

Well about 2 weeks ago I ordered a blackened MS flat ring hauberk from Ice. From order placement to my doorstep was 6 days, (there was a holiday weekend in the midst of that time). I finally had time to muck about in the shop and work on my armour, so I pulled it out of the box, and it was just beau...

I finally made something new in my shop!

No pics unfortunately. A buddy of mine needed a new pair of leather vambraces. Came over, helped me clean up the shop so we could get some work done, patterned them out, cut 'em, soaked 'em, sun baked them to speed up the process, shaped 'em by hammer forming them over a t-bar, baked 'em.... I haven...

Your order will work fine. You will have to check your leather very often, especially if it is dyed before you bake it. I would actually recommend that you dye it after bakeing, just for this reason. Its more important to see what the leathe is doing to avoid ruining any. You don't have to worry abo...

I would generally allow soaked leather to set over night, between 8 - 12 hours. If it is still soft and really flexible, it should be fine to wait til you get back.
