WTB padded coif

Hey all. I have a padded coif, but not sure it's thick enough for the job. It might work with a suspension liner, but I need the coif to help reduce helm ring. Who makes a quality thick 15th Cent coif for this hat: http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=167068 ? Looking for all ...

Re: New hat ACL/SCA

Hinged at the brim, so no issue getting head in and out. Bevor does not collapse but the neck part is articulated. Brim goes to the base of neck (I will ensure my entire spine is covered - we'll see what the body armor does). Interesting. I was just talking to Gruber about making me one like that. I...

Re: New hat ACL/SCA

First impressions... ITS HEAVY. ...but, on the head the weight is very evenly spread, so it is actually quite comfortable to wear. It is a tank and I believe I will be very safe against ACL halberds. Vision/breathing - very good. Although anything coming in at a 45 from "10 or 2 o'clock high" will b...

Re: Greaves + Articulated Knees

There are Roman carvings with what might be a hinged knee on a greave, but more likely the line across the bottom of the knee is a strap/re-enforcement/decoration on a one piece knee-greave. I recon that the hinge will take quite a lot of abuse (especailly in SCA style fighting) thus resulting in fa...

Re: Dags, you like dags?

My concern is that solid dags can be dangerous to the wearer -- both in being driven into the wearer when struck, or with contact with the ground. Also be careful when falling on other people. I'd recommend leather or segmented plastic (with no sharp edges) vice metal. Caviot - I have not dealt with...

Re: Help with simple strategies

Momentum, tempo, brutality.

Always be attacking, especially in "retreat".
What that means is, make sure you are never on your heals running backwards.
Instead, see it as re-positioning yourself for advantage for your next attack..

I can't get the link to open at work.
Is it the revolver or the auto?

We love the auto.
My wife and I take turns carying it. Very compact.

NOT snappy like many other .380s I've fired.

I'd recommend it.

Uilliam, the 'black' is actually green gamboised cuisses (3rd pic down from is a better look). There are 2 large rivets that penetrate the cuisse and 2 giant washers keep the knee from tearing off. Honestly, I think this hat is too pretty to do ACL. I don't think it will last very long.
(plus it's prob the last stainless hat he ever made, so I see it as a collectors piece)

So that's where I'm at so far.
