Want to hear or expect to hear. I think you're largely right. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I'll never change the opinions of people like Richard Blackmoore or Vitus and others of the same opinion. I've decided that there is no reason to beat that dead horse anymore. I realized that t...

Hi Gregory I was agreeing with the statement that the SCA wasnt gonna ever be someones own personal idea of what they thought it 'should' be. Narrow mindedness like that has always irked me and I've never been shy about telling them to piss off. Personally I have a lot of interests ranging from real...

Because the SCA is part of that path. It's a place to go to test myself against worthy opponents that play the same game I do, just from a different perspective. I learn from the people that I fight, both good and bad things. I also am able to teach them some in turn. It's a growth thing all around....

Alaric I dont understand why you are so emphatically stating the obvious. The point I was making was that while Tamock is obviously the equal of any he's following his heart and spirit. I'm sure that if he were to feel that his spirit was that of an SCA knight he'd have that accolade in a hot minute...

Hi James. Once you get the leather shaped how you want it you put it in your oven at about 180 degrees. Check it every few minutes or so to make sure you dont cook it to the point where it gets brittle and cracks. A good idea is to soak a test piece and bake it so you get an idea of what to look for...

LOLOL So in other words if Tamock wasnt Tamock he'd be a knight? I think that what makes a good man is the same for Tuchux or SCA. It's our choice of how we express that that dileneates what we look look or what our name is. There are knights in the SCA that I hold in the highest regard because they...

Yes. Tamock is an outstanding fighter. I have nothing but respect for him and am very glad to count him as family. He is indeed on a quest for prowess and honor and I think he raises the bar not just for Tuchux but for anyone that would put on armor and take the field. I wish I were half the warrior...

I used those for my 8 year old's armor. They're not really scale like the Scyths wore at all. I dunno if anyone produces the right type of scales for sale but it would be worth looking into. I'm talking to the dog that had my lamellar cut out for me about doing scales so I'll see what that's gonna e...

Hey Tom. I think it's cool the discussion so far. Vitus especially got to address problems he perceived and we got to discuss them like reasonable men. I gained a tad bit of respect for him due to the fact that he actually listened to the answers instead of just blowing off what he didnt agree with ...

Thanks, Animal. I can get really uptight at times. Alot of those ideas I have *are* probably based in the distant past. Sorry about some of that crap. But you guys don't look like Steppe warriors, bro. Your guys mostly look like road warriors or fantasy monster creatures. Skull heads etc. I know yo...

Hi Vitus. Lemme see if I can answer your points. " Like I have said before. If you are at an SCA event, and fighting SCA people under SCA rules, using an SCA membership so you can do these things- and yet claim that you are not an "SCA person"...I just don't get that. Please, Animal- explain this." ...

Thank you both for your eloquent responses. I see your points and I agree with them to a great degree. But what I was asking for was what made a good Tuchuk. Not why a Tuchuk isnt a knight. The point of loyalty was raised and yah, we tend to be quite loyal. However that isnt particular to my tribe. ...

Wow, where to start. First I'd like to thank Vitus for his kind words aout my dog-brother Tamock. Recognition for the hard work and training is a wonderful thing and Tamock is among the finest of us. His spirit is strong and his heart is huge. I'd also like to thank Cuan for his kind words concernin...

Would that be zischagge? If so, look into a 'char-aina' body armor.

This is a real ornate version of it. Real pretty I think. It would fit the persian thing real well.
