Re: Pennsic Pics.. ok.. whose got 'em??? ;)

I must say it was kind of weird being the one in front of the cameras and not having one in my hands, shooting Court myself. :? Ursus A little bit like parts of your soul were being stolen, eh? I got to handle your camera for Randall's part in court. It was spiffy and terrifying all at th...

Re: Electrolyte Suppliments

My credentials: I don't fight very often anymore, but I am a distance runner (5 half marathons, training now for my first full). Nuun tablets (like BdeB suggested), Emergen-C (I don't use this anymore, but it did work for me back when I used it), coconut water (I am a huge fan, even if it is a fad),...

Does anyone have any inside info about the Children's Water Battle? I've heard a rumour that it will be on Tuesday, but it isn't on any schedules. It is certainly a highlight for the kids in our camp.

It was so late in the day and so hot, I don't think there was anyone there to take photos. Just the combatants, marshals, and a few stout-hearted ladies to serve as water bearers.

Re: Archery practice in Richmond VA?

There is an archery practice every Sunday at Rockwood Park in Chesterfield (about 20 minutes from Downtown), near Courthouse Road and Hull Street Road. I am digging to find details but I think it starts around {edit} 2pm. http://caermear.atlantia.sca.org/activities.html Look under the College of Yar...

How about pairing up a partner with this fighter in melee scenarios, particularly while this fighter is new and inexperienced; someone who is familiar with him and develop a system to communicate holds and other important audibles? In a similar but different type case, there are blind runners who do...

What's her secret to keeping her chain mail drape from eating her hair alive?!?! I have to be as delicate as a surgeon when the mail comes off, and that is braided and wearing a coif!

Re: Crusader vs. Saracen Battle at Pennsic 2012

One thing I really want to work hard on this year is recruiting Saracens and their allies. Rules apply to both teams the same, arms and armour documentable to 1096-1291. Same for the soft kits. There are images posted to the FaceBook page to help with inspiration and ideas for creating the right loo...

Chocolate milk. Tastes good, has protein, sugars, potassium, calcium, and vitamin D.
I use it as a post-run recovery drink.

Good luck.

Re: FS: Egg Armour (Female), Windrose stainless knees, and..

On a less serious note... I did not see any size listings on EGG armour's website (nor did I even see their female breast plates.) Up to what size waist and more importantly, cup size will this fit? This was my body armour, so I can give some details. I wore this armour when I was a DD cup size, an...

Everyone keeps recommending carpooling and getting smaller vehicles, which is all very good advice. However, everyone realizes then that you have to lower your standards for what you bring with you, right? You can't pile 4 squires and their associated gear in a sedan that gets 37 MPG and still have ...

Need Help Fast- Middle Eastern Christian Woman's Garb

One of our local groups is doing an event in September called Journey to the Crusades, and BdeB and I enjoy doing a little court schitck at the event. Last year, Byram was the Crusader "gone native" and did an excellent job with getting a kit together appropriate for Raymond of Antioch, while I was ...
