I heartily support a ban on all uncovered plastic armor with the exception of the stuff that is cut and hung correctly as to emulate the hardened or lacquered leather. (I once mistook some very nice dark brown lacquered leather for plastic...) I would also support banning visible modern sports gear...

I made a 4ft Kong mace with a top spike and used it for a very brief while.

It looked OK-ish
It was fun for about 26 seconds ... then I got utterly abused.

I have an alternate idea for a rules modification that should make almost everyone happy…

It seems to me that I remember reading about William Marshal being lauded for is mastery of tactics for doing this very thing in a tournament…

The sun is part of the field as much as the boundaries or uneven ground. Use it if you can.

We are safe home from Pensic and the CotT. The day was absolutely GRAND. Numbers favored Johannes very slightly, the fighting was mean business.
Both Genevieve and I had a fantastic time. We look forward to taking the field next summer with our friends to trade stout blows and hearty laughter.

Fiberglass spears + face/head thrusts are way more likely to cause lasting injury than fiberglass arrows.

Bad hand protection is more likely to cause lasting injury than fiberglass arrows.

Overly heavy, unbalanced padded polearms are more likely to cause lasting injury than fiberglass arrows.
