Thanks, guys, for all of the input. I do like the idea of leaving the bottom of the receiver open. Running a pin or bolt through the existing pin holes in the receiver would be too high (it leaves too much wobble in the ball holder), but, having a rod welded across the bottom will work great (thanks...

Armouring Bench...Has anyone used or considered...

I removed a substantial amount of 3/4" oak flooring from my house and am in the process of laminating that into a forming bench for stakes (6" + approx. 1.5-2' wide x 5' long). Like many benches, I had planned on leaving recesses (i.e. square holes) in the bench to accept stakes. That being said, I ...

I really liked the original from the Cleveland Museum. I'm not sure if this is an exact reprint or the original or not (would be nice to know). Shiny Shapes: Arms and Armor from the Zeughaus of Graz...

I've considered adding this to my library for some time, but due to a lack of reviews and the high cost (used at BN.com from $68 to $150ish) was not willing to take a chance on it. Last week, I discovered that the Cleveland Museum of Art has them new for $34 + S/H (mine arrived today) http://store.c...

Armour at Houston Museum of Fine Arts?

I'm heading to Houston for a few days this week and noticed the museum on a website. Does anyone know if the museum houses any armour pieces?

Thanks In Advance!

While you're at HF, be sure to pick up the football shaped dolly as well. I got both back in December when they came in and they are a bargain. The football shape may not show up on the website (I've only seen it in one catalog and I remember that one wouldn't come up in the search). Happy Hunting, EG

I received a tool catalog today from McFeely's and as I was flipping through, I noticed that they sell stainless roofing nails. http://www.mcfeelys.com/subcat.asp?subcat=20.13.4 I know many use roofing nails for attaching leather straps at various points. I finally got to go again the other day and picked up three items: -I found the largest dowel pin I've ever seen as it's 3" in diameter and 21" long. I'm guessing that it's some type of hardened steel. This will soon be a large pipe stake for raising :D -The second piece was a 2.5" X 1.75" X 48" pie...

I would say more than likely they are not from the same suit. If you look very closely, you will notice that the gauntlets are different. In the first pic, the cusp overlaps the first plate approaching the hand. In the second pic, the first articulating plate overlaps the cusp. It's always a possibi...

Fluting necessary to be classified as Maximillian???
