I also think most of the books show carving on Basswood or Butternut, which carve a bit different than pine.

Revival clothing is a re-seller of imported product if that matters to you. Are you sure about Revival clothing? When I had the privilege of touring the owner's house, she took us through the business rooms where she has all her patterns, bolts of fabric, and cutting tables. I don't think any of he...

For any of us that would like to cut just like Mac, DeWalt's DW317K Compact Electric Jig Saw Kit looks like the current model; Mac's in the picture looks like it might be an older model. The DW 317K is available at Lowes and Home Depot for about $99. The one Konstantin linked to says it includes a ...

Patrick, Do you have a policy of videotaping any of the classes? I'm thinking about bringing a camera or two with tripods and setting them up in the classes I cannot attend if that is ok with you and the instructors. You've crammed many great classes into this weekend and since I can't be in all of ...

My airsoft pellets are hard plastic. I heard they were using some sort of foam or rubber ones for the spear heads, but my spear passed inspection without modification so I never saw what they were using in the way of pellets.

In one of Ugo's previous threads I posted a link to the clay he used. I'll see if I can find it when I get home, its basically the same type of clay we use in the auto industry to make full size surface models.

Re: Repousse tool kit for steel/ armor, advice needed (Ugo,

You can get babbit ingots from RotoMetals, the same place many people on the AA order pewter from.

Cost ranges from $4-$17/lb depending on the alloy, some are lead based, some are tin based.

I don't think the glue or soaking is necessary if you use 6-8 oz leather that is reasonably pliable. I did my last couple of shields by just starting in one spot, clamping, drilling, and saddle stitching along the entire edge. Only need 2 clamps this way too.

Leo, I don't think your experience with the closed mindedness of Middle Kingdom equestrian has been true for at least the last 3-4 years. We have had several new authorizations of people from other riding disciplines and I've not see any of them treated the way you were years ago.
