Re: Need pricing for some arrows

Thanks for the responses. I went ahead and bought the aluminum ones today. If he likes shooting it, I will direct him to where to buy the better arrows. It's a shame I couldn't afford to get him the good ones, as they are far prettier than what I bought, but it is what it is. At least he has somethi...

Re: Need pricing for some arrows

Here is the listing for the bow: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... OC:US:1123

Can he use the aluminum arrows with this?

Cat

EDIT: He is not in the SCA - this is just a guy who thought the bow looked cool. I doubt it will get used much.

Re: Need pricing for some arrows

He is a young adult (early 20's). I don't know anything about bows, so I bought the one I could afford. Like I said, he will probably take this out once, and that will be the end of it. He has his own AR-15 to play with, so I am betting that will get the most use. :)

Re: Need pricing for some arrows

Thanks for the replies. I sent an email off to Arrows4u, so hopefully they can help. For the others, $80 for a dozen is out of my price range. This bow is for a young adult who simply thought the bow looked cool, and to my knowledge, he has no archery experience. I would buy fiberglass arrows with t...

Need pricing for some arrows

Hey all, it's been....a very long time since I have been here. I am in need of some pricing on some wood arrows for a longbow. I don't know anything about archery, so I will tell you what I have and let you experts tell me what I need. I do not yet have the bow, but it has been ordered. The bow was ...

Here is a pic of one of the sample scenes. I copied the deer from a period leather box. Although I totally failed at capturing the whimsical feel of the original (which I found to be very unusual from what I have seen - this kind of whimsicalness, I mean), this still ended up being one of my favorit...

I was commissioned to make a hunting horn baldric that the client wanted tooled. Although I cannot find any evidence of baldrics or belts being tooled in this manner, I am at least trying to use period leather decoration (along with some illuminations/manuscripts) as sources for the subject matter. ...

Thanks for the info guys! :)

I tried horses with riders, but since the space I have is only 1.5" tall, I couldn't get the detail I wanted. It looked ok, but I figured just the animals would be a better way to go, considering the size limitations.

Thanks again!

Ok, why do effigies always seem to depict people standing on animals? Always wanted to know what that represented, but never have asked.

Doing a hunting theme, need animal suggestions

Hey guys, I am working on a project that involves animals that were hunted in 14th century Europe, and I need some suggestions for animals. I have deer, rabbits, boars, birds, hunting dogs (not an animal that was hunted of course, but goes along with the theme), bears, and fox. What else is there? T...

When you decide on a pouch, start making your patterns on cardboard. Then, I highly recommend you use cheap fabric to try the pattern out be...

My "family motto" (some research suggested this was ours, but who knows) is Non sine periculo, which someone translated for me as being loosely "nothing is without risk"/"not without risk". Don't know if the translation is correct, or even if this is what you are looking for, but I thought I'd throw...

I personally like the look of a collar on a maille shirt, but it can be a bit tricky getting it right. Here's a pic of one I did eons ago. I think I may have made that maille skirt. If so, it's 3/8" 14 gauge galvy and brass. If that's what it is, I've still got the materials and I could cut up some replacement rings for the buyer for shipping costs only.

Oh man that looks REALLY good! I wish I could do that kind of metalwork. Heck, I'd be happy with plain old basic blacksmithing, but all I can make is a forge fire. lol (and I'm not all that great at that)
