Mac,
I would like to make sure it is ok with you to post the videos of the demos you did. I am still trying to put some of them together and hope to get them up on youtube as long as you dont mind them being up there for the public.

Re: Armour workshop - So. Cal. Now with Surprise guest Armou

We also discussed how to heat treat 1050 and things to watch out for on warpage, as well as tempering. Chris demonstrated what happens to 1050 if you quench it without tempering and it shatters like glass. Then he tempered a peice and it was like a spring. Mac also suggested that if you have a numbe...

The gauntlets look good. There are a couple of spots that could have been adjusted slightly different, but that is because my hands were not available for fitting (only a tracing and measurements). They seem to work good, although I will have to get used to buckling them while they are on. I have st...

Guillaume, did you receive your gauntlets? I am in a similar situation. The last email I received was a month and a half ago and was having some problems with bouncing. If anyone can get in contact with Morgan please PM me so I can pass along my cell number so he can get a hold of me. Thanks, William

I have used 1/8 inch stainless on the helms for my boys and they have worked great. They are about the same thickness as hockey helmet face cages.

I kept mine overlapping as I did not want the edges to be able to flex inward at my spine. The only time it would really matter is if I were to fall over backwards on to some thing or someone during a war battle. If I were to have made it a one piece back then I would have put some leather on the in...

I cut mine down the middle with buckle straps on each side and the middle to allow for growth :) It is easy to get in and out of by myself. Once I have the sides where they are good I never undo them to get in or out. It goes on like a vest and buckles in the front with 3 buckles.

I have a table outside that I clamp my shear to using a C-clamp. My cutter works great. The bigest thing to think about is how fast the blade is spinning. Mine spins between 200 and 300 rpm. If the saw blade moves to fast you risk breaking teeth and over heating the blade. You could make one for very little out of pocket if your moter will go slow enough. you cou...
