Re: Concussions and CTE

Its ****ing hard to know where the line is between speaking up and minding my own business. I'm sorry it took me so long to speak up. Its not been an easy road. But if my story helps anyone else avoid becoming another data point in this research then I will be pleased. The easy road is to sit quiet...

Re: Concussions and CTE

Unless we start coming forward to get this information out I believe that we are doing not only a great disservice to our fellows, but failing in our dedication to chivalry. It wasn't easy for me to start this post, I had been in denial for a very long time, but I know fellow jousters that have Par...

Re: Concussions and CTE

Could my concussions (I've had two confirmed, one from football another from wrestling as well as some "brown outs" from SCA) be the reason I sometimes have trouble getting words to leave my brain and get to my mouth? I've noticed it has gotten worse since 2005, the last time I really got rocked. I...

Friedrich, The offer of hospitality and safe passage is the same with me and mine. We have missed both you and your lovely wife, Pennsic has not been the same without you. If you can make it next year, the King At Arms is a way to stay involved, and a job that needs doing. Sir Johannes, I'll not hi...

Re: Combat of the 30?? How did it go?

Adam: You and the Priory are missed more than you know, and were discussed at some length this year. If any of you can make the return to the 30, please find a way, your lack has been felt. If any of you is too injured to fight, please attend and act as Kings of Arms. It is heartening to know that ...

The Priory has yet to discuss this as many members have been off questing in that far land of mundania... We have ever stood shoulder to shoulder with Sir Johannes, and I suspect will do so again. Although His Excellency Sir Nigel is dear to us as well. That would be five taking the field I believe...

That is most excellent!

I love how the Couter has inspired more than just the men of arms who have taken part in the deed, but also onlookers, and artists, etc

It has a life of its own and I am immensely proud to have been part of the story.

My only disappointment was that the flow of the battle didn't lead me to Tobiaz or Eadric of Stonemarche. Friendly foes are the some of the best fights. Perhaps we can alleviate that disappointment by setting up a deed of our own? I'm sure we can find a mutually acceptable crossroads to meet at. :)...
