Based on the specs given, it is SCA legal. With the perf. plate the way it is, it would also be legal for SCA Rapier and Cut and Thrust.

GDFB armor seems to suffer from the same problem that tools from Harbor Freight have. You could buy one and have it fall apart in the first use, or it could work splendidly for the rest of your life. Personally, I'd save up and not worry about rolling the dice with my brainmeat.

AFAIK the two inch tip is still ok on rattan so you aren't completely out your money yet, It is a pretty big bummer that a tip you just bought failed inspection and they wouldn't take it back.
