Effingham,

If you're asking about the order, it stayed with Meridies. If you're asking about Bearkiller, he is in GA.

If a frontal face shot could be potentially damaging, I would not recommend fencing, either. It is lighter contact, true, but I don't know of a fencer that has not had their head rocked back by an unintentionally hard shot. A friend of mine even coined a term to describe it: Pezzed, as in the Pez ca...

Matt,

I'm interested in a pair for SCA combat. Do the fingers ground to the weapon? And is that price for stainless?

I've handled a pair of finger gauntlets from the Moore brothers. Didn't get to fight in them, but holding a rattan stick I took a baseball bat style swing from my buddy Tim Morris right across the knuckles. It stung, but didn't really hurt. The crazy things we do to check out our armour. BTW, I took...

There was a lefty, I think he was a prince or king, that I saw on the pickups Sunday. I wish I asked his name his fights were awesome to watch. That was the Prince of the Meridies and I forgot his name, but sitting at work today is difficult for the bruise on my right leg. LOL. He got me a good one...

Mefario,

That would be great. I'm not trying to hijack the thread, I'm also looking for a burg for heavy and rapier. There are some good pics of your burg on the Black Diamond site, but pics on you ,front and side, would be wonderful.

Mefario,

When you wear your burg, does the brim point up or is it more nearly horizontal? How do you find the visibility in it? And can you post a pic of you in it?

I used to wear contacts before I got Lasik, I don't recall ever losing a contact while fighting, but I was always in an open face. I'd say go for the surgery if you can, hopefully in time to fully recover before Gulf War.

Dominic,

If you sue her in small claims court, can't you include court costs and your legal fees as well. It is her fault you have to go to court, she should have to pay for it.

Adriano,

I don't recall the name of the winner of the tourney, sorry. I will not be able to make it to Castle Wars, as I can only make one event a month at this point. The next event I plan to attend is Fighters Collegium in November. Perhaps I'll see you there.

I would be careful about swinging the double-weight sword in air at full speed. That's what the pell's for - the acceleration phase (going from 0-60). Finish the workout, however, with some half-speed swings in air, exercising the braking or deceleration phase separately. Then don your regular weig...

I don't see a reason to disallow such a helm, but I would be concerned that the center of the cross would cave in. If you make it, I'd be sure that the occular was reinforced to prevent this happening. Also, if you do make it, please post a pic of it- sounds like a really cool idea.

Mongols didnt use polearms that I've been able to see. So I figured a spear would be the best thing. But dueling with a spear in an SCA context is very limiting because you cant slash with it. So i figured if I made a 7.5' polearm like the slashing spear By My Hand had at pennsic it would be better...
