Yeah, I'm totally flexible on slashes. I'll slash it like a jackolantern, if ya want. It is my understanding that felted wool is made of raw fibers, and fulled wool is made from already woven cloth. I was planning on fulling the wool, as I always do, but hand, in hot water. I also like to further co...

Lucian Ro, try again. olddecember1066@gmail.com. I may have typed it wrong before. Considering the amount of material that goes into one of these, yeah, that'd be a serious price cut. If the email fails again, try patsulla@yahoo.com, or just my phone (773) 426-7679. My private messages have been kin...

FS: Steampunk Corset. Great Christmas Gift for the Wife!

Just posted these in the Off Topic Posts section, and JT told me I should move 'em here. I started wholesaling steampunk corsets to a couple companies, so I figured I'd see if anyone here wants one. This one is an underbust. She buckles in the front, and has lace loops (like the top laces of your bo...

also, you can do the shell in wool. It should be easier to work and cheaper. I sew on a Juki 555 industrial machine with a two horse motor. Leather sews just as easily as wool, and I think it actually slashes easier. I'd be more than happy to do the whole thing out of wool, linen, cotton, or stretc...

They're linen, stuffed with cotton, and trimmed with leather (where it laces on). I'll have a picture as soon as this one is done!

Looking for Someone Who Wold Like a Landsknecht Doublet

I'm about to put them into production, and need to make an initial prototype to gauge pricing and get the quirks worked out of my patterns. If you would like one, please let me know. I'd like to make it for a 38 to 42 inch chest (because that helps me calculate materials), but if you have a 56 inch ...

Calling Those Who Ordered Helm Padding/Aventails From Me

I hate to have to write this, but for some reason I'm not able to see all of my private messages. They're just not there. I have an aventail and two liners half finished, and I need to know who they were to go to. Totally my fault for not keeping better track. If you could please please please pleas...

I would make you a master to make copies for use as a church fund raiser. I have no problem with you doing that. I'm obviously not the first to have this idea, and I could use Old J.C. on my side a little more these days....

A. force people to buy them.
B. con people into thinking they are real (archeologically or spiritually).

The thought was to have them 8.5x11, with illuminations around the edge, and a nice Gothic script, in Latin. I'd love to find an image, or at least the text, from an original that I could copy. I'd also like to sell them with a little half sheet that would have a translation, and a brief description...

Selling Indulgences

Hey Guys, I've got some events coming up, and I'm looking for some little products that I can sell that would be low cost, and just neat stuff. My dad came to visit me this weekend, and we've been talking about it, and he suggested selling indulgences. Would you pay five or ten bucks for a personali...

I'd be willing to make one custom, or as many as you want. I've always done them from linen, stuffed with raw cotton. I'm about to take on a couple aventails, so it would be nothing to add a spangen liner.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

OT/FS: Wilson Leather Biker Jacket Sz L

I got this when I got my first bike at 16. It was a bit big, but fit pretty well then. My thought was that I would grow enough to fill it out. I had a 40 or 42 inch chest then, and now have a 37 rather than a 47. I got taller, and skinny, not bulky, so the thing has just been sitting around for a co...

Cheap(er) Wool

Hey Guys, I have a potential proposition. As has been discussed in a few other threads, I'm in the early stages of starting my own clothing company. At this point, one of my biggest problems is lack of capital, as I still have to pay tuition and text books aren't cheap. But I had a thought. I have a...

Those have some interesting tailoring. I'm looking at how the feet are constructed. Really cool. What's the history behind them? One more thing... Striped landsknecht hose, in large, can be made from otherwise unusable pieces of wool. Oh, and that is a good point, about the thread. In my experience (and if the owner of Revival or HE would like to say contrary, I would welcome it), even clothing with the highest standards of history, as far as material goes, is sewn together with polycotton thread, if it is machine stitched. TomSaucer, duly noted. However, although I did leave this totally open to discussion, I'd rather not get into the "cotton debate," nor the "available versus widely used" debate just right now. In the research I've been doing lately, I've found that no one really seems to sell landsknecht stuff at all, and for that reason, its pretty high up on my list. I'll be draping and patterning a waffenrock this weekend, and should have pictures of it on my facebook page by early next week.

Most of the clothing I have made, by the standards you've outlined, would be high end SCA stuff. I have a living history kit that I made for myself that is out of hand spun, hand woven cloth, sewn together by hand with a needle and thread. I can do that, if its what you want; but for the sake of pro...
