SCA legal fencing mask/gorget FS

I have been away from the site and from fighting (SCA-wise) for years due to the real world. Unlikely to be able to return to fighting due to actual fighting and injuries sustained in real world combat. While going through many trunks of stuff from the current Crusade, I found I still had my light-f...

Re: Selling soft garb- 1100-1200s era

Both tunics were handmade from patterns to fit me (thus the sizes given in the original post). Working on pictures, I thought I had several but after my divorce, I have none that actually have both me and the tunics in them. :( I will try and take some pics tomorrow. Chausses are linen IIRC, i will ...

Selling soft garb- 1100-1200s era

I have not been to an event since 2009 and aside from a couple random Ren Faires, nothing else either. With my current schedule and etc this will not improve (if anything....worse) so I am selling off some garb. Currently armorless or that'd go too. Wool tunic. Dark blue with a brownish/goldish inne...

Re: Renaissance-era doublet and boots?

I've got 2/3 of an outfit that was Elizabethan court setup.

Looking for more English or Italian, late 1500s. Doublet, hose, some riding boots (I like the style). Fairs and SCA events when i feel dressy more or less.

Renaissance-era doublet and boots?

Now divorced with no more free tailoring made to order. Looking at a replacement doublet and boots appropriate for the Renaissance era for wear at events/faires etc. I know about HE and Revival, any less expensive yet worthy options I'm missing? Been Norman persona for years, this is just for fun an...

Re: White Mountain Armory Norman Nasal

Just measured.

12" 'deep" (vertical) as best as can be determined. Width is between 7 1/2 and 7 3/4" measured.

Due to the fact I must sell, and sooner rather than later, I'm willing to accept any bids in the $650-725 range. Again, this is a brand new, never used helm.

Re: White Mountain Armory Norman Nasal

So do I. Need the money. Didn't want to sell the helm, but that's how it goes. I am taking offers. $919 was the original asking price, i am reasonable, but not insane. Take that into consideration, the lowest I can honestly afford to go is in the $750-800 range, the money is needed elsewhere. Doesn'...

I have a large head (wear a 7 5/8") and it's stainless.

Exact dimensions will have to wait a day or two, it's well buried under some other gear and needs extraction.

White Mountain Armory Norman Nasal

As much as it pains me, i've been tight on money for 2+ years and have not attended an SCA even in that time. The odds of me fully completing a harness that matches this helm, much less having the ability and time to fight in it for the next 3-4 years is unlikely and it's money i need. WMA Norman na...

I wore nothing but a linen undertunic, braies and chausses, with a wool tunic over it, and a unlined heavier canvas cloak in the middle of an Austrian winter in an unheated castle.

I was quite warm.

You'll be fine with less.

I was stationed in Italy for 3 years. We visited about 15 castles in five countries, though unfortunately, the 12 or 15 on one single long trade road about 2 hours from us we didn't get to. One of the smaller towns locally did an event like this. I have pics and video from the "jousting" (not agains...

I've contemplated doing an armor chest.. with four or six loops of leather on the sides for carrying poles. You can get a friend and assist, and move stuff in style.

If it worked for the Ark of the Covenant, it will work for armor.

My persona is 11th century English Norman. From York. While visiting England, I made it a point to stay in York for a night. And visit the keep. As a "returned Crusader" (In real life, I have both been to Israel and deployed to the Middle East) I'm sticking with the time period. My helm (so far, alo...

Having bad knees I count them as a kill. As to disabling someone, I've seen a guy shot four times in the leg at point blank range drive off and walk/hobble in to a house. Painful? Yes. Disabling? Not necessarily. And that was with a 9mm, not something small like a .22. I would go with counted blows,...
