Re: Rawhide shield edge?
I wished I would have overlapped more.... Davi d'Orleans (KSCA) I'm glad I'm not the only one that had this problem. My overlapped areas actually were so short, they shrank exposing the shield edging underneath. I had to re-soak the screwed up part (with the shield) in a large dish pan to remove it...

Re: Horse Hair....Substitute
I changed out the bottom section of hair with a longer wig. As you can see, it is having a little of a "bad hair day". But, its over all effect is pretty good.
I've been told to try using some conditioner on it. After all, it works on human hair.

Re: Horse Hair....Substitute
http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=63891&hilit=tugh I went to a second hand store and purchased a couple of wigs of various styles, and colors. When you tear apart the wig, you will find that the wig hair doesn't come out loose like dog hair. The wig hair will actually come ...

Re: Health and Fitness in SCA Combat
I used to run 2-3 miles daily, 50 push-ups, 70 situps, lift weights and such,... (retired Army). The only thing I noticed was I used more of my core muscles. I don't know if the fighting style of fighting with a round shield is the cause of it. However, I still got pounded into the ground by 300 pou...

Orc,
How about pics with the coat open, so I can see how it is cut? :)
I run as a Seljuk, and like to get a closer look at the coat.
Thanks,
Amaris

They have these styles: http://www.mcdavidusa.com/store/index.a ... ENT_ID=729
Perhaps, you can pick a style and email them how to adjust the design to your needs.

I got mine from Red Falcon Armoury. I don't know what their sales are like today, but this gorget fit perfectly. I have a 14 inch neck.
