sh!tz-n-giggles update on the quality of halberd's tools (halberds' maybe? hehe) a couple of months ago I finally broke something I got from him. the threaded pipe on a set of tools bought before he started doing the slide in square stakes. maybe 2008? Don't remember.. I remember scotch and cold.. a...

Re: For Sale: One Premium Journyman Armouring Tool Kit (sold
The stuff was waiting in our mailbox when we got back from the anniversary trip. We have a large mailbox.. which I am also glad I went out and reinforced when we first bought this place. Hehe Caution heavy ... no kidding. My wife had a box of herbs (for some concoction to cut down on my smoking) She...

Side note.. and while not armor, and many of the tools used were not from that set I got from you before.. this is something I made recently with some help from things I got from you. (Sorry I'm just plain bad with cameras.. but what would normally be silvery in that is actually coppery. Had I known...

Re: For Sale: One Premium Journyman Armouring Tool Kit....
Hehehe.. I took a little liberty with "truth vs fact" and was like "Hey sweetie, look, if we swing by (and take scotch), I get an extra tool!.. it's worth 70 bucks.. " trying to appeal to the natural inclination for sales.. (i.e. let's buy those shoes I don't need .. they are 20% off!) hehe.. She ro...

As a side note to everyone, my wife still has hers in a glass vase on prominent display on the breakfast bar. While it didn't hit #1 of the gifts I've given her over the years, it's #1 out of things we still have. (To be fair, not much competes with #1 of all time.. I got her favorite singer to come...

Re: Looking for reviews on IceFalcon TI mail
I have one, they are LIGHT!!! Moves well, with my padding it's just under the max for medium though and it bunches up as I put it on, a little shimmying and you'll be fine, or make sure you have more than one inch to the max size it goes to :) All in all it's rather like wearing a heavy coat during ...

Re: Uninjured Armourers?
Dear pitbull, I think you just saved my hands!!! I have reynauds and it gets REALLY bad from any kind of vibration. (I use heavily padded gloves just to mow the lawn) I've been taking forever to work on a few armoring projects beacuse I can't go at it for any length of time. I can't believe I never ...

Re: FS: $50 for a good story (and a rattan sword)
Things that earn a name and have a story shouldn't be tossed man. Pull it out for the poor lil bushi. If he ends up not wanting it, you should take a dremel and etch "Scrap, the waster that wouldn't die" sor something around the tsuba and keep putting him up for sale. Maybe print out his story (With...

Re: Important review of Icefalcon!
I was going to chime in after reading the posts where greed was an angle, and after reading the whole thread I'll still say my piece on that, but I have to throw in another tidbit as well. First I just have to point out that money is certainly not what ice is about. I actively tried to pay for my sh...

It is costing me an almost completely redone bathroom for her, for me to fix the honda, re-do the siding on the back of the h...

A slight twist...
Just my 2 cents here. How about this. Paid advertisers get either a single sticky thread they can update whenever they wish, OR a whole sub-category EACH I know that might add too much... Someone brought up about the stickies being too many. but if each paying company gets one, that shouldn't be too...

Silver melts above 1600 F, depending on the alloy. Pewter melts around 600 F. How 'bout a why or two....
Most of what was said so far here is really good advice, but I feel I have to throw in a couple of why's because I think they are important. esp. if you intend on doing something differently and wonder why it doesn't work. Oh! helpful tip buy a book like the complete metalsmith or some such. quite h...

I already gave my christmas "wish list" to my girlfriend a while back.
Had I known I'd have added this a long time ago.
Well we'll see if you have some next time I have some money.
So many cool things people have on the archive so little money.
*sigh* hehe.

I should really stop by your shop more often.
But then you would have had to worry about
the drool rusting things. And of course my girlfriend
killing me and making the floor all bloody.
Nice work by the way.

I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up. If you want to keep the dye, and and tooling, still have it formed, and stiff, but not off kilter from boiling.... Dye it, do any tooling you want then bake it in the oven at a very low temp, (I use about 200 deg.) It won't change shape, but if you don't mo...

A possible solution
There are some companies on the web that do a third party holding thing. They get the money, they hold it. they let the person with the 'goods' know the money came in. that person sends it. when the person at the other end had the items (Some of them verify this differently, some have the goods sent...
