Re: Poor coverage from Zoombang shirt

By kidney protection, I meant 'kidney area protection' ie the kidneys and the floating ribs. It covers the kidneys ok, but most certainly doesn't cover the bottom floating ribs on each side. It's not a matter of having to guess where they are, I can put my thumb on them and feel them. Anyway, I've g...

Re: Poor coverage from Zoombang shirt

I'm not particulary keen on cutting them out and adding them to another garment, I already wear a gambeson with a very minimal kidney belt of leather and foam incorporated into it as a series of pads. I was wanting to go with something more low profile that would allow an outer garment to move aroun...

Re: Poor coverage from Zoombang shirt

Sir Vitale: two things to keep in mind. One, I know Zoombang sells shirts that aren't the Max Coverage line, so make sure you get that one. Two, they're all hand made, and it looks to me like yours was off a bit. As Sir Omarad said, just send it back. Call them and tell them what's up as you do. I ...

Yep, I'll likely do that. Postage to New Zealand was $60, so I wanted to get a good handle on things before we start burning up money posting things around.

Its the same sort of high-tech polyester as used on underarmour shirts and the like.

Poor coverage from Zoombang shirt

I recently ordered a full-coverage Zoombang shirt as discussed on here. I got it in the mail yesterday. The trouble is, it seems to cover everywhere except for my floating-ribs. Is that normal? It's a XXL size. Here is an image of the side: zoom1.jpg My floating ribs are right in the middle of the l...

I'm not sure these are legal as-is. These are either a mass-weaponor a sword. If they are a mass-weapon, they need to be compressible by 3/4 inch. They can't be so compressed, so they aren't a mass-weapon. If they are a sword, they need to have the edges marked. Could be done in a non-obtrusive way....

Hi I just received an order of the Museum of Clunis belt pieces as above. I have a question about them. Most of them have the narrow pins that get bent over. I'm OK with that. But some of the enamelled pieces have a single thick shaft in the centre, that looks like it needs to be peened over like a ...

Jokes at Fighters Practice

Had a laugh at practice on Sunday. Two fighters were out on the field, one with a short two handed sword, the other sword and board. I was by myself on the field, having recently finished a fight. The other two fighters lined up and I snuck up behind the sword and board fighter. They closed and ther...

On the field I posted earlier the mortices for the rails, were done by cutting slots in boards half the required thickness and chiselling them out, then laminating the two boards together to make one post. Wasn't too much work.

Hi, I'd like to take advantage of the 50% off code for McDavid stuff mentioned in http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=101228 But they only ship to the US (and nearby areas), but I'm in New Zealand. This peculiarity of the rules, was one of the examples of why the Lochac rules were re-written for clarity.

As I recall all the other sections are reasonably specific about what areas need to be covered, just not the helmet section.

You know, if you read society rules, no-where does it state that the helmet has to protect the back of your head. It should, but the rules don't say that.
