Not quite sure of the leather weight, went into Tandy and said I was looking for 5-10 oz belly but didn't need a a whole piece.. got a bundle of 'scrap' that I can't remember what the weight is but it was just about a whole belly for just waaaaaaay cheap. Seems to be about 1/8" thick. I love the peo...

leather bottle first attempt

It's ugly as heck but it is functional which is all I was shooting for. Future bottles will look much nicer as I learned a lot from this first one. Thanks to all that answered my questions regarding the wax from awhile ago. Was surprised it holds almost 32 ounces. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y1...

leather bottle making question

Am going to attempt making a leather bottle and found plenty of instructions that it seems like it's within my ability. There is one thing that I'm not sure about - how much pitch/beeswax is needed. The sites just say a 50/50 mix but none say have x amount of each on hand. Am looking to make essenti...

Not very good pictures but this is what I'll be sporting soon. The remaining plates should be in this weekend so will just need to clean it up and attempt to make it look purty. Karl the Heretic - who occasionally lurks here (and whom I met because of Archive) has done all the work. http://i4.photob...

posting this on here for a friend. Clamshell gauntlets made by Red Falcon. No picture of the actual gauntlets but this is the link to Red Falcon's page: http://www.redfalconarmouries.com/index.php?crn=58&rn=209&action=show_detail I think these were barely used. looking for simple stainless knee cops

Looking for very affordable - used would be great. Am a bigger gal so have chunky knees. I'm not in any rush, just looking to see what's available Most cops off-the-shelf seem too narrow and shallow for me.

is it possible to dye a canvas coat of plates?

A friend (and fellow archiver) provided me with the coat of plates he started making. It's about 3/4th of the way done - made of plastic plates riveted (copper) to two layers of green canvas. Is it possible to dye the top layer of canvas without taking it apart? I'm fine with keeping it green and sp...

I found volleyball knee pads at Walmart (was several years ago). They have velcro closing at the top and bottom so can make as tight as need be. Also the area behind the knee is open so there's nothing to bunch up. Even with chubby legs they rarely came undone/shifted. Now I just have my leg armour ...

I always thought there should be a desiginated spot where those too shy/embarrassed to approach others to fight could congregate. Then others could say hey, lets go fight those guys, they'll like it. Leah- I was not aware of the practice to which you refer. It seems like a good leadership exercise for the squire. As to the "no knights around" situation, that makes sense too. I am in an area where you cannot swing a dead tuchux without hitting half a dozen knights, so my perspective is different...

Are you meaning ones other than the men-at-arms to a knight that the knight directs a specific squire to take under their wing?
