fencing hood/veil/headgear

good morning, Winterfell said, he would like us fencers to work on our head gear. Good point! Although I'll never be able to be at Pennsic, I think it's a kind of encouragement to work on my gear. Now there's my point: At the moment I'm fighting in this dress: [img]http://avs.blogianer.de/resserver/...

I guess, the standard answer to this is: Because the Earl Marshal works with his deputies. And he has a fencing deputy. So he doesn't need to know about fencing. Or archery, or siege engineering or ..... So he only has an administrative function. I guess at least we will come to this conclusion. Don...

For Court:: STAY IN THE BACK!! If this is her first event, she likely won't know anyone or what's going on. If it is a normal Court and her first event, she will be asked at the end of Court to step forward, together with the other beginners. This is a kind of DW-tradition - to say hello to the new...

Re: Kampfrau

Please help, as I always shudder when hearing this horrible, afaik not german word. On what basis can you claim that it is not german? It is not modern german, but it could be an older word. This is exactly, what Im looking for. I know, what it maybe _could_ be, but I'm looking for sources.

greetings, this is a topic which comes to my mind every few months, when I'm reading lists and webpages. I have asked about it on other lists, but couldn't really find an answer, so here's the question to the geeks: Why do you call a woman joining the Landsknechte (german plural) a "Kampfrau"? Where...

Newb's opinion here. IMHO, when you take my clean, light shot, what you're really saying to me is "Yeah, I don't think you're capable of getting in a good, hard shot, so I'll just take this one so you have a chance." Hm, what I would think in this situation is: "okay, the technique was good, next I...
