There's a guy called Ash making some over here as well now. Very good and cheaper than White Rose looking at their website. He doesn't have any pictures on his site but I should be collecting one from him tomorrow or Saturday so can post some pics if anyone is interested. http://armour-services-hist...

I would advise against using railway track for peening in this project, use something flatter if you can london underground rail is completly flat on top and is 4" wide, it is the heaviest type I stock. I also keep UIC-54, BS50-0 and several others plus more I can get to order or a section of a for...

We also have this guy over here now http://armour-services-historical.co.uk/ his site seems to be having a few issues at the moment. I've had a couple of interesting brigandine coversations with him. He has a very nice looking example on his stall at shows and is going to stop linning his and tin th...

Who would make the best one if you paid them enough? Who makes/would make the best one in your price range? Who makes ...

Brian - You auctioned them on EBay in April 2005. If anybody has some they want to sell I'd be interested. I've never seen anybody post anything about the brigandine they are making/have made with these nails which leads me to think that a lot of people still have them lying around waiting for when ...

I'd suggest searching this site plus the FireStryker forums and The Companie of St George (www.companie-of-st-george.ch) for all refernces to Brigandines. This will provide a good deal of information and may answer a lot of questions for you.

You could try Steve Stocker at http://www.bowstock.co.uk/
He's a re-enactor and does some of the markets so he'll have a good idea what your talking about.

Try these, two both in the UK and both highly regarded by UK re-enactors. Plenty of their products will be in evidence come Hastings.

It all depends what sort of combat you're going to do. A lot of us over here have a minimum standard of helmet, gloves and jack but we pull our blows and stick to defined target areas (well in theory at least), but if you want full contact then you will need more armour. I guess what I'm trying to s...
