Actually its a common ailment amongst martial artist. The real issue is that the ligaments are stretched and you need a good strengthening program to tighten the muscles supporting the ligaments
A solid isometric or weight training program should correct the issue to an extant

I do a greek kit with a muscalata
I wear a long tunic with lacross shorts under the tunic and a leather skirting over the tunic. its light in the way of armor but its better than nothing

I didn't do too bad, would've done better if I didn't get hurt with and hour and a half left to fight. Took a nice hit to the shoulder that benched me left a very pretty bruise along the forward to rear head and onto the trap. Maybe I'll take a pic and post it before it starts to fade =p
