Sorry I have responded to the repost before now. the Helms I referred to were in the first segment in a couple of the flashbacks. Just after the 42 minute mark there is a flashback from 1291 when Jerusalem fell. Several Templars are wearing the kettle hats. Were these period for time or later on. Th...

Last Templar helms

I watched the Last Templar on NBC the last couple of nights and wondered about some of the helms being worn. The main one was the kettle helms (chappell der fer -sp). Was it in use during the time that the Templars were in Jerusalem? Was the rest of the armament and clothing accurate? Between wonder...

Is there a possibility both are correct? I am referring to dialects and regional pronunciations. Example, "Richard" in German. I have heard most say "Ree card", but have also heard "Ree shard". Ihave been told that this depends on area one lives in Germany and would hold true to other words as well....

since you are using this for leather, I would not recommend the bottled Hide Glue. This stuff has chemicals in it to keep it in a liquid state while in the bottle. When it comes out of the bottle, the glue is fairly thick and probably will not soak into the leather easily. Because of the chemicals, ...

My son needs "gauntlets" for practice with a boken, to keep from getting his knuckles busted up. He mentioned metal, but is something better or more traditional? Can someone suggest a pattern or steer me toward a previous AA thread.

A bit bigger in size than the hand buckler, but didn't some of the Scots use a targe with either a spike attached to it or a dirk blade protruing through its center? This wouldn't have been with great sword , but with broadsword or axe, or club.
