It looks too cool to pass up. 8) I'd be very interested, particularly if you can cast it around plywood as you'd described earlier- I'm thinking armor box. Had you considered tinting the resin a dark brown? That way, any chipping in use would be a lot less noticeable, and the finish after the castin...

I've been fighting with a finger gauntlet on my shield hand for over fifteen years, in Atenveldt, Artemisia, AnTir and points East- so far, not a quibble.

The people you really need to talk to, of course, are your local marshals.

I've been fighting for the last year with a smaller hand pavise. It's about 3/8" thick, built up from 1/16" birch, pressed between two forms, and covered in hemp canvas. By using spring, you could get the weight down, at least. There'd be no reason it would have to be feather light; if 16 and 14 ga were used, it'd probably be around 7 or 8 pounds, which should still be enough mass to protect your neck and brain.

There are some awesome fighters on that list! I have had the priveledge of fighting with and learning from quite a few of them.
