These are the same as the splints I used for my greaves. They are awesome and good for steel fighting.

I have now also fought steel combat wearing Gaston's splints for my greaves. The contouring of the splints really helps with the fit and comfort. I highly recommend them for a cost effective and protective option if you can handle assembly. You can see mine here. I'm on the right. 10494827_102043403...

I was able to get a 2.5 mm helm in spring from Jolly Knight, but I don't think it was a thickness he usually had.

3-Piece Greaves For Sale

These are a pair of 3 piece greaves I had made for me by a friend for the purpose of getting me started in steel fighting. They are stainless steel (I believe 18 gauge). I wore them twice to fight in and have now set myself up with some spring steel splinted greaves so these have become expendable. ...

Re: Problems with Jolly Knight

It took him a good amount of time to get me a helm but he ultimately made good. I think he may be struggling a little to keep up with orders but I am happy with my hat. I don't want to bash him but keep that in mind if you are ordering something not in stock at the moment, it may take a little while.

As I had a negative thing to report let me be the first to say here the Tuchux were a pleasure to fight this weekend at AEthelmearc War Practice. You can always nitpick a thing or two from any melees with anyone; but the fighting this weekend was outstanding I thought.

Yeah, those were my originals. They've been seeing pretty heavy action for about 10 years now I think. They've been rehardened a few times already. I've had two pairs over the years of the single layer and have been very pleased with both.

I don't know what the best way to work with the Tuchux is, but I do know I have also personally seen problems with them that I have not seen occur with other fighters. I've seen cool stuff too so it is really hard to blame the whole group. I don't want to vilify them, yet I think part of their exist...

That's awesome. Do you have a specific area and time period you're focusing on? And do you have plans for articulated joints in the near future? I'm probably going to need a pair of articulated knees for a splinted kit I'm building. We will probably eventually extend as late as very early 15th cent...

For ACL based armors we will primarily use 4130 chromoly steel. We definitely plan to try to help with documentation in that regard by providing links to effigies and other resources as best we can.

At this time we will not be making helms.

I agree with Nissan. Kit slowly coming together. Loved the taste of it I have already had. It is clearly not for everyone, and that is totally OK. I believe if you want to excel it does require a greater level of commitment in some regards; particularly with physical fitness.
