Perhaps it is just a trick of the eye, but in that first photo, the rivited maille looks 'inside-out'.
That aside, those are very nice gauntlets which accentuate a very nice harness.

Building a sound proof basement workshop - need advice!
Hey Folks! I have recently moved into a new town house. I absolutely love the place. It is ideal for a starter home for my wife and I. Now that I have 'almost' everything unpacked, it is time for me to start planning my armoury so that I finally have one centralized workshop to pound metal. The best...

Forging a Titanium knife from surgical pins.
My Friend who works at a knife forge shop just called me with an interesting question. He had a client call who’s son has just past away and apparently the sun wanted his father to have some knifes forged from the titanium pins in his spine. My friend wanted to know if I knew anything from being a...

While I have plans to make a brigandine for my wife and myslef I would also like to change all my maille out for rivited. I have previously ordered Steve's stuff from Forth Arm...

I find times very greatly between people. (which is of course painfully obvious) However the rule I have always gone by is STOP when it starts hurting. I'm talking about joint pain here. If my bicept is dieing from raising a hammer all day but my elbows and wrist feel fine I may continue. However if...

Strongbow - You are correct. My kit is early 13 hundreds yet the helmet is more like 1200. The reason for this is that it is by far my favorite helmet to fight in. Due to the nature of the sugarloaf helmet's design the oculars sit rather far away from ones eyes thus making vision a problem. However ...

I always wanted to show people what it was that I did in my little corner of the world, but I am way too lazy to figure out how to post pictures. Hey Wil, I 'believe' the case is as you say they would hammer ingots out into maleable sheets. However I think that most of the things that I have read say that it was an external industry to the armourer who would do the iron milling and then deliver to the armourer the sheet that they requested. I am looking to make some wasters which can be as acurate in shape and weight to a medieval broadsword as possible (they need to be flat cross section etc). As simplified as I can make it: Right of Way: Right of way signifies that between 2, 3 (or more) people, 1 of them is allowed to proceed while the others must wait. The person who can proceed has 'right of way'. The others must wait until he has excecuted his motion before they can go. In Fencing: I...
