For Sale: Merc Tailor two-piece bracer

It has been AGES since I last came here! I bought these several months ago, then got myself a pair of splint bracers. While I love both of them, I have no cash because of college (amongst other things) and would like to get money for another project I have under way. Only thing I've done to these is...

Nice article at mron.org, thanks for the link. What's the difference between a 14th century scabbard and for comparisons sake, a 11th?

Two thin ones; it'll save labor. Total thickness, maximum thickness of the blade plus no more than 3/8" (3/16" on a side), and having the maximum thickness of the scabbard being blade thickness with 1/8" to either side wouldn't hurt either. The idea is to have the scabbard be gracefully slim, not c...

This is a real supprise attack?

I'd prolly just take the brestplate and legs, if I'm on horseback. Oh and gauntlets...

So...3 mins? Then attack harass/hold off the raid till one of the villagers raises the alarm.

Though the brestplate looks like it sags down :?

Note that if you have some contact cement on the end of the bottle where it comes out, and you flick your wrist, when the contact cement flies off, it will eventually stop and "hang" in mid air as it has glued the air to itself

A one-handed sledge would work, definitely give the power. However, unless you have been working out a lot lately, it won't take long until you are too tired. I would suggest nothing over 2 lbs. That will give you weight, you can swing it to get power, and you shouldn't get too tired to finish the ...

I'm considering using that Black and Decker jigsaw to cut some of the steel.

As for magnitism, the chisels themselves feel slightly magnetic coming from the package.

The best idea is using a chisel on some other surface than your anvil. If you must use your anvil (as in it is the only surface you have) use a scrap piece inbetween the piece being cut and the face. Keep in mind you want it smooth as to keep both sides nice through-out. The Pad, or Step of the anv...

Using cold chisels

It's reccomended that I use a ball pean hammer, but which end do I strike it with (as dumb as that sounds) as as far as I know, a ball pean is rather light (atleast mine is) and I doubt it could help cut through 16ga steel...

Now the question is where I'm going to store it...I'm building a game table for WHF and realized my 8' long 2x4 smacks the ceiling rather quickly when raising it up...(I'll see how tall my celing is when I get home this evening)

I'm only 5'2" anyways (one short bugger...) so how long *should* it be?

Unfortunatly I'm not sure. The only "real life" roman scale I've seen was the so-called "plumata" -- and those scales where rather tiny.

I'm guessing 3" tall, 2.5" wide or something, but thats just my guess.

Spear poles/Pole arm poles/a question about spears

If one was to buy a spear head, what type of wood would be good for a sturdy pole? Oak? And where can I find them? I only see pine wherever I can accually find poles at all. And how big around should they be on average? I'd figure stout enough to take some force but small enough to fit your hand all...
