Re: Playing medieval card games online

Just got done playing. After the initial hiccups from any beta test it was an absolute blast. I actually got home at 8pm est and including hooking up the microphone and signing up for a roll 20 account took all of 5 minutes before I was in the game. It was a fantastic evening with some fantastic peo...

Re: Playing medieval card games online

Sorry I wasn't clear. Using Google hangouts to supplement while running Roll 20. I've done some RPGs where I'm running fantasy ground on my comp and then Google hangouts on my phone. Limits processing power on a slower computer.

Can I recommend Google hangouts? It's free and will run on most phones. I know when I normally play RPG'S online we use that.

I like the thought process here. In regards to the woodworking question even St. Thomas guild uses power tools to craft a lot of their period tools.

Re: Another Research Project - Playing Cards

I don't know if England has Abstractors but you might want to check. In the US Abstractors do all the research on a property to make sure the person selling it actually has the right to do so. This often involves wills. Lawyers use them and they are mostly contractors. If England has the same profes...

I have the smaller of Panther's Bell Wedges and the only time I set it up with the ridge pole is if I am using the awning as well. Of course my ridge pole is maybe 4 feet long.

Sorry for the resurrection but I'm starting to do my preliminary research on the same style chest and have run across a lot of the same sources. The one thing that is driving me crazy right now is the attachment of the side panels. If you look at the images on http://thomasguild.blogspot.nl/search/l...

It is very true. This type of bias is also what lead to the celebration issue in modern fencing where celebrating every hit is basically mandatory basically mandatory because it influences referees.

6 board chests (especially kits), Viking chests done the same. Trestle tables and sawhorse tables. You lace it rope beds seem like they would be popular and keep cost down. Medium grade stuff that many couldn't make themselves but could impulse buy at events. If the chest kit was sub $40 it would se...

Just from looking what is in the thread this type of cabinet is common in the bedroom and dining room. It ia in use across multiple social stations at the same time. Dining rooms of the more wealthy tend to have extra shelves on top for displaying plate. Ones in bedrooms tend to have a pitcher, a ba...

Honestly I would go the plywood route. The heavy boxes help promote teamwork. Ours could have two legs slid in sideways to form handles for 4 children to carry it. Ours had its own legs so it didn't take valuable table space.

Not practical experience but something I've witnessed on Facebook and the Archive. If you want a period tent, many people will buy one with full setup package from Panther and have it delivered at Pennsic. At the end of the even they then sell it for a few hundred dollars off. In the end they end up...
